<p>With the Ohio high school season set to start at the turn of the month, it is always a fun time of year in anticipation of athletes coming off the club season to rep their schools over the next few months. The Girls Greater Catholic League is considered one of the toughest in the state with teams representing three different divisions of play. It is safe to say that fans will likely see multiple GGCL teams making deep runs in the postseason once again as this league has some of the state's top prospects across all positions and division of competition. Seton won the two most recent DI state titles while St. Ursula was the DII winner in 2024. Mercy McAuley won the DII title in 2023, before the expansion to seven divisions, as Ursuline claimed the crown in DI in 2022. </p>

<p>Heading into the 2026 season, the teams competing at the DI level are Seton, St. Ursula, and Ursuline. DII will feature Mount Notre Dame, while DIII will include Mercy McAuley. All of these teams will feature veteran and new talent as they battle through tough conference and non-conference schedules. Here is a list of athletes that have the experience and tools to contribute in a big way this season and should be considered for pre-season GGLC Player of the Year consideration based upon last high school season combined with their effort over the recent club season.</p>
