The 2026 Michigan Freshman Showcase took place on Sunday and we had nearly 70 different 2030 prospects on hand in Pontiac, displaying their talents.

This could be a very special class and many of the best were on hand.

Here's the fifth set of player evaluations from Sunday's Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='965937' first='Olivia' last='Magliocco'], DS/L Lakeland/Dynamite

This defender was one of the more vocal players in her position group. That went for her communication during drills and scrimmages, as well as her support for her peers. Magliocco brought a heightened level of aggressiveness in her play, but did that while maintaining a good court IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='1009098' first='Laura' last='Aubrey'], OH Mercy/Legacy

Aubrey was definitely one of the top hitters at this Freshman Showcase. When she went up for the ball, it was something to see. She had one of the best verticals of the group, and her arm mechanics were among the best as well. What really put her over the top is she adjusted well mid-approach, but never hesitated to go for an aggressive line. She also took on a big workload at the net and never slowed down.

[player_tooltip player_id='1009768' first='Addalyn' last='Moore'], OH Northville/L2

Moore did a good job of stepping up her aggressiveness and intensity as the Showcase went along. Moore has good length and is able to make herself big at the net. She had steady pop on her attacks and she did a nice job of working the sidelines to make defenders really have to work to keep her attacks off the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1009770' first='Waverly' last='Diegel'], OH Midland Dow/Legacy

Diegel made some solid standout plays in all phases of the game. The 5'10” outside shows a lot of promise to be a 6-rotation player. Her serve receive and defensive play was at a high level and very consistent, while her attacks show good explosiveness. The ball has good trajectory off her hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='966645' first='Micah' last='Anderson'], DS/L Country Day/Michigan Elite

Anderson brought her running shoes, as she kept herself on the move and was one of the top hustle players in the Showcase. Her effort allowed her to have some highlight-reel digs that she should feel good about. Anderson looked a little timid in the early stages, but played looser as time went on. She should feel comfortable being assertive on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1010246' first='Quincy' last='Mena'], OH Canton/Legacy

Mena is listed at 5'8”, but she could play well above the net with some impressive lift off the floor. She had a nice approach to her swing, generating a lot of forward momentum to combine with her vertical. This lead to some head-turning swings. Mena also shows a lot of promise with her defensive play to be a viable asset anywhere on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1007464' first='Lauren' last='Bectel'], DS/L Hart/Inside Out

Bectel did a good job of keeping herself squared up to hitters. There wasn't a lot of wasted movement when she was patrolling the back row. Bectel kept her focus and had a high level of awareness that allowed her to stay opened up to the hitters and make consistent first contact.

[player_tooltip player_id='1010358' first='Marshall' last='Mills'], OH Flushing/L2

Mills doesn't have the size that some of her peers had on the outside, but she pushed herself to try a nice mixture of shots. Mills displayed a heightened awareness to place some successful offspeed attacks. Defensively, she had some nice plays during frantic scrambles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1010749' first='Masiela' last='Juncaj'], S Oxford/High Performance

Juncaj brought a lot of good leadership skills to the floor. She was one of the better communicators amongst the setters and very supportive of her hitters and fellow setters. She took well to coaching and was able to apply new facets to her play throughout the Showcase. One of her real strengths was her footwork, as she positioned herself well to get clean and accurate sets.

[player_tooltip player_id='779142' first='Morgan' last='Parris'], MB Bay/AVC (Ohio)

One of the Ohio prospects that came to test herself against the best from Michigan, Parris left a lasting impression. The 6'1” middle really was strong with her blocking, as she was able to stuff some of the top hitters at the showcase and was disrupting a lot of other shots. On the attack, Parris shows a lot of quick arm mechanics and a nice hop off the floor. I was also impressed with Parris' serve when she got the opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id='1009423' first='Isabella' last='Jacob'], OH Marian/Michigan Elite

Jacob had a good overall skillset to work with. She is clearly a natural athlete, as her movement and swing look rather effortless. When on the attack, Jacob has an impressive follow through that really adds another level of pop to the ball. Her defensive form shows a lot of potential as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1007063' first='Sophia' last='Jacob'], OH Marian/Michigan Elite

It shouldn't be surprising that Sophia shares a lot of similarities to Isabella. Both standing 5'10”, Sophia also has the good base of athleticism and quickness to build off of. Sophia looks technically sound in both her serve receive and passing, while her swing also turns another gear at the end with a powerful follow through.
