Learn more about Avoli and its performance-driven footwear at <strong>avoli.com</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At the <strong>Prep Dig Arizona</strong> <strong>Freshman</strong> <strong>Showcase</strong>, the <strong>Avoli Committed Athlete Award</strong> was presented to <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='947418' first='Braelynne' last='Roberts'] </strong>an athlete who truly embodies what this recognition is all about.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Braelynne was so much fun to watch as a scout, not just because of her all around ability as a player, but what she is able to do when no one is looking. During the showcase we are obviously looking for players who fit this model and it was obvious from the start that Braelynne would fit that build. She worked so hard throughout the showcase, always being willing to step up when a spot opened up, staying in for longer reps as a middle when it was needed, and never took a play off. She also seemed to enjoy playing and was always cheering on her teammates and picking them up when something didn't go right. The positive energy coming from her really made her team around her better from the start and throughout the showcase. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Now... her game play was just as impressive as those other factors we talked about. For someone so young, she is a well polished middle blocker who can do a lot for her teams. First her offensive game looked really good throughout the showcase, beating blocks left and right and scoring not just to one side of the court, but really taking what the defense gave her and all openings she saw. She hits with a lot of pace and can really run the full arsenal of sets to really keep the defense honest. She has a ton of upside to her offensive game and should only get better in the years to come. She also excelled with her blocking, continually taking away space and getting her arms well above the net. Most importantly she was able to read and react well to the setters and close blocks extremely well on the pins. Her footwork is exceptional and she closed a ton of blocks and shut down a fair share of hitters.
