She continued moving through the rally, worked back into transition and remained ready for the next responsibility instead of checking out when the ball went somewhere else. For an outside hitter, that matters. The position demands passing, defense, coverage, transition and attacking, often within only a few seconds of one another. Melodia's willingness to keep working through those changes helped show the broader value she can bring beyond the final swing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She also handled the unpredictability of the showcase environment well. Athletes are constantly being asked to adjust to different teammates, different setters and new situations, and those circumstances can reveal a lot about attitude. Melodia continued competing, stayed connected to the group and treated each new repetition as another opportunity rather than a disruption.
