At the Prep Dig Michigan Freshman Showcase, the Avoli Committed Athlete Award was given to [player_tooltip player_id='977297' first='Layla' last='Ljacaj'].   From the very first jump of the showcase, it was very apparent the type of athlete Ljacaj was. She's determined, focused and very intentional. Whether it be a small warm up drill, hitting lines or full blown 6 on 6 competition, this is an athlete that does not look to take a play off.   Physically, this athlete is quite gifted. Standing at 5'10, Ljacaj may be what some deem as undersized, but she makes up for that in big ways. For starters, this athlete has a vertical that some can only dream of. Not only does she elevate high, but she elevates efficiently. It does not take much for her to soar through the sky. From there, Ljacaj's arm swing is picture perfect. It's clean, it's fast and it packs one heavy punch. This is an athlete that not only excels in the middle, but shows signs to be quite an overall, complete player on the court. Layla has the ability to jump in at any position and thrive.   Aside from what you see in the big flashy plays that Layla can make, she brings a subtle, yet demanding demeanor on the court. Like I said earlier, this young athlete is very intentional. Not only with her physicality, but also with the way she carries herself and interacts with others. It is very apparent how much of a leader she is on the court. There's no lack of communication when it comes from her and it's always full of useful information. She may not be the loudest on the court, but she's one of the first you'll hear!   While still so young, [player_tooltip player_id='977297' first='Layla' last='Ljacaj'] has made a clear distinction of who she is as an athlete and what all she is capable of doing throughout her next four years. She is wonderful representative of the Avoli Brand and it's values.
