The senior came through with the five-set finish and showed exactly why she is such a tough six-rotation threat. She challenged the Rampart defense with smart shots and found ways to terminate from the front row. However, her impact did not stop at the net. Roberts stayed ready in the back row and continued to contribute when the game moved behind the attack line. She brought the kind of senior presence Cheyenne Mountain needed in a match that went all five.

Rodriguez did a great job keeping the Cheyenne Mountain offense rolling. When a hitter was hot, she recognized it and continued feeding that option when the team needed a point. That was especially important in the fifth set. Rodriguez stayed composed and continued pushing the pace, even when the match got tight. Her ability to trust her offense and find the right hitter helped Cheyenne Mountain stay aggressive through the finish.

Rampart

Portee had a strong night, finishing with 13 kills and a .289 hitting percentage. The sophomore showed a great ability to terminate when the play was not always perfect, which can be a huge difference-maker in a five-set match. She found ways to put the ball away in tricky moments and continued competing when Rampart needed a point. Portee is still early in her high school career, and this was another strong step in her development.

Wright continues to be a name to know. The senior outside finished with 16 kills and a .289 hitting percentage, bringing plenty of power to the Rampart offense. She was a consistent option throughout the match and continued taking on a big role when her team needed points. Wright has already established herself as a major offensive threat, and her senior leadership will be important for Rampart throughout the season.

Five Sets, Plenty of Fight

Cheyenne Mountain earned the win, but both teams put up a serious fight. The match had big swings, important offensive moments, and players stepping up when the pressure was highest.

Five-set matches are never easy, and both teams showed plenty of fight. There is still a lot of volleyball ahead for Cheyenne Mountain and Rampart, and this matchup was a great look at what both teams can bring this season.

For more Colorado volleyball coverage, match recaps, player standouts, and more, follow @prepdigcolorado on Instagram!

Cheyenne Mountain and Rampart went the distance, with Cheyenne Mountain taking the 3-2 win in a match that came down to the wire.
