Here's a closer look at some of the top returning athletes in Class 2. With such a talented group of players returning this season, the Class 2 volleyball landscape promises to be thrilling.    Kylee has established herself as a pivotal player for the Bears, showcasing her scoring ability whether hitting in the middle or on the pins. With just 265 kills needed this season, she is on track to join the exclusive 1,000-career-kills club, alongside a teammate. Additionally, she is only 263 digs away from reaching the 1,000-career-digs milestone, which would highlight her all-around contribution to the team. Her versatility and consistent scoring make her an invaluable asset for Butler as they aim for a successful season.     Returning for her final season, Kamryn is poised to lead East Buchanan back to the state playoffs. At 5'8", she utilizes her length and ability to read the court effectively, making her a formidable outside hitter. Last season, she recorded 318 kills and 192 digs, showcasing her offensive prowess and defensive capabilities. With her experience and skill set, Kamryn is determined to elevate her team's performance as they strive for postseason success.     Addie is a dominant force in the middle for Gainesville, standing at 6'0" and capable of scoring with a diverse range of shots. Her impressive court awareness allows her to identify and exploit open spaces in opposing defenses. After finishing last season with 312 kills, Addie is set to continue her strong performance and will be a crucial component of Gainesville's offensive strategy this year.     Kourtney emerged as a key player for the Bulldogs last season, and her growth has made her the team's top middle hitter. At 5'8", she possesses excellent court vision and a solid understanding of the game's flow. Kourtney's quickness off the ground and high reach enable her to make impactful plays. After tripling her offensive output last year to finish with 305 kills, she is well on her way to reaching the 500-career-kill milestone this season.     Allie had a standout club season with Club North and is poised to bring that momentum to Plattsburg this fall. Her powerful swings, defensive skills, and exceptional passing ability make her one of the top returning players. With a strong serve and an instinct for positioning, Allie's contributions will be vital for Plattsburg's success. As she gets more opportunities to impact the game, her influence could help the team make a deep playoff run.     Layla is one of the top liberos returning in Class 2, and she is on track to reach an impressive milestone of 1,500 career digs this season. Currently sitting at 1,281 digs, she is expected to surpass this mark within the first month of play. A quick and agile defender, Layla excels in passing and takes command of the court, making her a crucial asset for her team. Next season, she will continue her volleyball journey at Missouri Baptist, where her skills will be further showcased.     After stepping into the spotlight as the primary setter for the Dragons, Myia had an impressive season with 877 assists, needing just 46 more to reach the 1,000 assist milestone. Her quickness, exceptional hand-eye coordination, and ability to connect with her hitters make her an effective playmaker. As the top returning setter in Class 2 for the 2027 class, Myia is eager to build on her success and guide her team through another competitive year.     Kendyl is rewriting the record books for the Bulldogs, entering her final season with a staggering 1,894 career assists. Her hard work, strong leadership qualities, and innate understanding of the game allow her to run the offense with confidence. Kendyl knows her role and excels in it, making her a record-setting setter. As she continues to develop her skills, she will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy at East Buchanan.
