Division I, Class AA, Regions 7 and 8 Players to Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These two regions have some nice rivalries. The big one in District 13 is the Dyer County Choctaws and Crockett County Cavaliers. The two drove all the way to the state tournament last year with the Choctaws winning all four meetings on the way to a state runner-up finish. She combines her size and athleticism well to control the net. Scholten can pound balls to different zones all over the court so defensive specialists can't key on certain spots. Scholten is strong enough to power balls through blocks and forces opposing hitters to consider her when swinging because of her good blocking form. Rogers makes a number of pancake digs. She only lunges out of necessity to keep plays alive, but is consistent on both serve reception and defense. Rogers takes quick, short steps to balls and provides sound net backup. Rogers also sends across nice, hard line drive serves. She goes up and places off shots to the back lines. Chandler also makes plays with her size on defense. Chandler provides sound net backup. Childs tools blocks and uses her off (left) hand to tip balls and surprise opponents. She puts over nice roll shots. Childs has shown she can be effective against good blockers. Childs flies in and sends balls screaming to back rows.
