Five-Set Fireworks: Match Recap, Fossil Ridge vs. Legend

<p>Fossil Ridge and Legend went the distance, with Fossil Ridge coming away with a 3-2 win in a match that kept both teams battling until the final point.</p>   <p>There were big plays on both sides, and plenty of players stepped up when their teams needed them. Here are a few standouts from the five-set battle.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Fossil Ridge</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700"><a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/02/colorado-2029-pins-to-watch/" data-type="post" data-id="941762">Friedly</a> was on fire at the net, finishing with four big blocks and five kills. She found ways to make an impact on both sides of the net and gave Fossil Ridge a strong presence up front. Her ability to terminate offensively while also shutting down plays at the net made her a key piece in the win. There is still plenty of season ahead, and Friedly is a player who should continue to grow from here.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Pottle put together a consistent night in the back row with 15 digs and proved to be a steady playmaker for Fossil Ridge. She held her own in serve receive and stayed ready to react when Legend sent the ball her way. Additionally, Pottle did a nice job reading the play and getting herself into position early. She helped keep rallies moving and made it difficult for Legend to find easy points.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Legend</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700"><a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/09/the-power-seven-of-5a-colorado-volleyball-part-two/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepdig.com/2025/09/the-power-seven-of-5a-colorado-volleyball-part-two/">Tidey</a> brings a steady pace to Legend's offense and does a great job keeping the game moving. She is constantly involved and stays ready to make the next play, even when she is not taking the second ball. Her awareness keeps her connected to every part of the rally. She also has a nice feel for finding her hitters when the moment gets tight. Tidey knows how to keep the offense unpredictable and has a way of keeping her attackers involved. That experience showed throughout this match and will continue to be a big part of Legend's season.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Hawk thrives when the game gets fast. When the ball comes her way, she is ready to make a play and brings plenty of power behind her attack. Her approach is unique to her game, and she uses it well to create opportunities at the net. Hawk is the type of hitter who can turn a quick sequence into a big point, making her another player to keep an eye on as the season continues.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Five Sets, Plenty of Fight</h2>   <p>Fossil Ridge earned the 3-2 win, but both teams showed plenty of fight throughout the night. Five-set matches reveal which players can stay locked in when the momentum keeps shifting, and there were plenty of those moments in this one.</p>   <p>The season is still young, and both Fossil Ridge and Legend have plenty of volleyball ahead.
