More Names To Know From The Indiana Stock Up Showcase

More than a week has passed since last week's Indiana Stock Up Showcase, but the event's deep talent pool warrants another look back at players who impressed. Although there was abundant talent at all positions, the setters and libero groups were especially deep. Here are five setters and liberos who I am excited to follow moving forward.    Ranked inside the top 50 liberos in Indiana's 2029 class, Bode put together a strong overall performance in Indianapolis last Sunday. Peyton possesses obvious athleticism, giving her the ability to make difficult passes. Bode is a fundamentally sound player, playing with good footwork and an above average feel for the game. The sophomore stood out in serve receive during drill work and also showed well in scrimmage action, doing the little things well. The Westfield product is an interesting piece for the Rocks, one of the state's top teams, and figures to play a role over the course of her prep career.     One common theme from the Stock Up Showcase was versatility, and perhaps no player better exemplifies the profile of a Swiss Army Knife than Paul. Playing as both a libero and a setter, Raya features an unique skillset that allows her to impact the game from multiple spots. As a libero, Paul showcases her high motor and athleticism, flying around the court to make difficult plays look easy. Her ability as a setter is centered around a high volleyball IQ. Paul reads the court at a high level, understanding where the ball needs to go and putting in her teammates in good positions. Another young player at one Indiana's 4A powerhouses, Paul is a mature player that will help Yorktown in the near future.     An upperclassmen at an event dominated by freshmen and sophomores, Whaley stood out with a solid all-around game. Claire played confident volleyball at the showcase, showing a willingness to dump when the opportunity presented itself. Another player with an advanced volleyball IQ, Whaley anticipates well and adjusts throughout the game according to what she sees. In addition to the intangibles, Whaley has obvious athleticism that allows her to stand out defensively as well. The rising junior should see a significant increase in her role for Benton Central this fall as the Bison look to build on last year's State Runner-Up finish.     Flickinger had a strong showing in a deep position group at the Stock Up Showcase, holding her own and more as an incoming freshman competing against a majority of older players. Addison is another fundamentally strong player, using good footwork and anticipation to show well in serve receive. An advanced passer, Flickinger possesses great touch and control, allow her team to play in rhythm. Additionally, Flickinger stood out from the service line with a powerful serve. She is another exciting player to watch for in the 2030 class as she begins her prep career at Northridge.     Another Swiss Army Knife-type that stood out at the showcase, Hardman showed the ability to affect the game in a variety of ways. As a setter and a pin hitter, Karigan has an aggressive mentality that makes her a threat to pass, attack, or dump. Hardman impressed at the service line, adding to a unique skillset that demanded attention in an event loaded with talent. Standing at 5'10" with advanced athleticism, Hardman will only get better with time. She is an intriguing follow as she begins her prep career at Seymour.
