The guessing game I call Pick to Click. As I looked through the stats to determine the top returning players from a stats standpoint, I couldn't help but notice players on the cusp of a breakout year. There are a lot of them! I decided to grab some players from each area of the state who I believe have the potential for a big fall.

After a season of varsity experience, we can only expect bigger things from Bakrac this fall. She made an immediate impact as a freshman, finishing the season with 204 kills while showing flashes of the player she could become. After spending the club season competing against high-level competition, expect that experience to translate to even more growth in her game. With another year of development and confidence, Bakrac has the opportunity to take on an even bigger role and become one of the key offensive pieces for Oakville this fall.

Fogel will be counted on to take on an even bigger role offensively this fall, which is why I have her pegged as a player primed for a breakout season. She finished her first year at Belton with 165 kills, but expect that number to climb as her role in the offense continues to expand. She'll also be looking to elevate her play in the back row, which shouldn't be a problem with her beach experience. With another year of experience and development under her belt, Fogel has the opportunity to become one of Belton's go-to options this season.

Kickapoo will be looking for even more offensive production from Asay in 2026. She was already a solid contributor as a sophomore, finishing with 192 kills, but her role should continue to grow this fall. With another season of experience under her belt, Asay has the opportunity to take on a larger share of the offense and become an even more consistent scoring option for the Chiefs.

Henson will look to go out with a bang in her final high school season. She put together a strong spring and summer with Mavs 17 National, continuing to show the versatility that makes her such an intriguing player. The setter can do more than just run an offense. She can jump over to the right side and take quality swings when needed. With a high volleyball IQ and a strong understanding of the game, Henson can impact a match in multiple ways. After recording 199 assists and 101 kills last season, more court time and an expanded role could lead to even bigger numbers in her senior campaign. If her club season was any indication, Henson is poised to make her final year one to remember.

[player_tooltip player_id='1021824' first='Bella' last='Walk'] is emerging as a legitimate six-rotation pin and should be in line for a much more productive season at Capital City. She showed flashes of her potential last fall, finishing with 179 kills and 166 digs, but I expect her role to grow. What makes Walk especially intriguing is her ability to impact the match on both sides of the ball. She has the offensive ability to be a consistent scoring option while also contributing enough in the back row to stay on the court for all six rotations. That type of versatility is valuable, especially as she continues to develop physically and gain confidence in her game. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see her push for 300-plus kills and 300-plus digs this season. If she can take that next step offensively while continuing to develop as a passer and defender, Walk could become one of the more productive all-around pins in the area.

Hake is another player who does a little bit of everything well, making her a valuable piece of the lineup. One of the biggest questions heading into the season will be whether she continues to split time at setter or takes over the position full-time. If she is able to focus solely on running the offense, I could easily see her pushing toward 900-plus assists this season. Even if she continues to contribute in multiple roles, Hake should see her numbers climb from the 203 kills and 344 assists she recorded during her junior campaign. Her versatility gives her team plenty of options, but her volleyball IQ and ability to impact the game in more than one way make her particularly tough to defend. With a larger role potentially on the horizon, Hake could be in for a significant senior season.

Blakeman has emerged as one of the more intriguing prospects following an impressive club season. She saw limited action as a sophomore, but that should change significantly this fall after what she showed this spring and summer. She's a long, athletic opposite who can make an impact in multiple ways. Blakeman has the range to score from the right side and the length to be a legitimate presence at the net as a blocker. Her combination of size, athleticism and offensive upside makes her someone I'm expecting to see take a major step forward this season. If her club performance carries over to the high school court, don't be surprised if Blakeman quickly establishes herself as one of the players to watch in her class.

Coslet played her role well in 2025, but we're expecting her responsibilities to grow in 2026. She finished her sophomore season with 188 digs and 322 serve receptions, showing she can be a reliable first contact and steady presence in the back row. With another year of experience and a bigger role likely ahead, I expect those numbers to jump. Coslet has the skill set to develop into a 300-plus dig performer, and if she continues to improve her consistency and court coverage, she could become one of the key defensive pieces for her team this fall.

Lamb saw her first significant varsity action last season, appearing in 72 sets and getting valuable experience against varsity competition. She made the most of those opportunities, finishing with 80 kills and 26 blocks while continuing to develop her game at the high school level. I expect Lamb to take another step forward in her final season. She has a chance to become a more consistent offensive option while also making a bigger impact at the net. Reaching 100-plus kills and 50-plus blocks feels like a realistic target for her senior campaign.
