The Future is Here – Dallas Up Next Top Performers Vol 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back!  We had a big event that was held at the Courtside Sports Center on August 8^th.  The Dallas Up Next showcase for the middle school classes was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. But what stood out at the Dallas Up Next Showcase was not the frame. It was the feel she had for the position. She processed the floor quickly and made decisions with a confidence and decisiveness that most middle school setters have not developed yet. Her footwork getting to the ball was efficient and she released consistently with her hips squared toward her target. Court coaches noted the set location variety she showed throughout the scrimmage segments and the way she built trust quickly with hitters she was meeting for the first time. At this age with this much already working in her game, the recruiting conversation around Khloe could easily start earlier than most people expect. Her physical presence at the net was one of the most noticeable things in the building throughout the scrimmage portions of the event and her attacking range from the right pin showed a player who is already learning to use her height rather than just rely on it. Southlake Carroll is going to have something to look forward to when she walks through the door next fall. What she showed at the Dallas Up Next Showcase was a setter who understands that running an offense is about more than just delivering the ball. She communicated constantly, adjusted her calls based on what the block was giving her, and kept her hitters in rhythm even when the pass made her job harder than it should have been. Her footwork was sound and her release point was consistent across both sessions of the event. I noticed that she was a standout competitor who was not afraid to go against anyone. That alone should tell you a lot about her.
