2029 Player Rankings: Top Liberos

But, her play in the back row is what has drawn her national attention, and for good reason. Brown is incredibly quick on her feet and able to be highly accurate while up against the top hitters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='757121' first='Stella' last='Smith'], Clarkston/Legacy: </strong>Smith is also in an elite class nationally, as she's got great technique and consistency, while delivering an outstanding serve. Smith plays with as much competitive fire as anyone and exemplifies leadership at the position.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='788886' first='Bristol' last='Davenport'], Southgate Anderson/Legacy: </strong>Another strong libero that has been able to shift to outside during the prep season, Davenport shows great footwork and explosiveness to be a big gamechanger at the net and in the back row. Davenport always looks in control on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='778631' first='Breanna' last='McMahon'], South Lyon East/Legacy: </strong>McMahon is part of a very talented group of defenders in the South Lyon East program and she's proven she can step up and come through with the momentum-swinging digs in a big match. She keeps herself squared up and in good position at all times.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='885455' first='Kate' last='Berghoff'], Mercy/Legacy: </strong>Berghoff has been able to play nearly anywhere around the floor, but her defensive prowess has put her in position to lead one of the great prep programs at Mercy. Berghoff is a great communicator and learns quickly from any mistakes to come back stronger each match.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='985560' first='Kaia' last='Bednarz'], Northville/Michigan Elite: </strong>Northville is another prep program that has produced great defensive talent. She plays with a lot of poise and her form is polished. She keeps herself low to the ground to give her the best opportunity to get under the strongest attacks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1023742' first='Brogan' last='Miller'], WL Northern/Legacy: </strong>Miller moves around the court like a lightning bolt, able to cover so much space in such short time. She shows good instincts to try and stay ahead of the play, while being really strong with her backing up of hitters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='915869' first='Cameron' last='Howland'], Bloomfield Hills/Michigan Elite: </strong>Howland can play the outside as her athleticism and agility make her a factor in all phases of the game. She looks really comfortable in serve receive, as she is a big reason why her teams are able to stay in-system.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='775516' first='Elizabeth' last='Burke'], St. Catherine Academy/Michigan Elite: </strong>Burke has been up against all the big arms in the state and has done a great job of digging them up and keeping her team in tough points. She keeps steady form and is not afraid to take some bumps and bruises to make the tough plays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1009093' first='Hadley' last='Conrad'], Northville/Michigan Elite: </strong>Another promising defender in the Northville program is Conrad. She's getting some great experience this fall with the Mustangs that should keep polishing her form and build on her already solid court IQ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
