THE NEXT ONES UP: Class of 2028 Middles WATCHLIST Additions

<p>The Class of 2028 middle group is deep, and these players are making plenty of noise right outside the rankings. The watchlist is full of athletes who are continuing to develop, add pieces to their game, and make a strong case for themselves every time they step on the court.</p>   <p>These middles are not waiting around. They are making plays, creating problems at the net, and showing exactly why they should stay on the radar.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='943060' first='McKenzie' last='Moore']</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700"><a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/06/colorado-volleyball-stock-watch-june-edition/" data-type="post" data-id="999443">Moore</a> brings a lot of energy to the middle, and she is always looking to get involved. She is fast, aggressive, and does a nice job staying available no matter what the pass looks like. The ball does not have to be perfect for Moore to make something happen, which is a huge piece of her game. She also has a connection with her setter that allows her to stay involved offensively. Moore can get moving quickly and is ready to run whatever is needed. When seeing her play at <a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/04/zbt-15s-standouts-colorado-rankings/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepdig.com/2026/04/zbt-15s-standouts-colorado-rankings/">ZBT</a>, she showed just how efficient she can be when given the opportunity. When the ball came her way, she produced. That consistency is something that continues to make her a player worth watching.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1008722' first='Brooklyn' last='Gilbert']</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Gilbert is one of those middles who makes her presence known quickly. Her athleticism allows her to get off the ground and play above the net, while her high contact point gives her plenty of options offensively. She moves well in transition and can be a problem when the offense starts speeding things up. Gilbert is especially fun to watch on the slide and when attacking off one foot. She gets moving, gets up, and can put the ball in difficult spots. On the other side of the ball, Gilbert covers a lot of ground at the net. She gets out to the pins quickly and does a nice job taking away space from opposing hitters. She is still adding to her game, but there is already a lot there.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='821757' first='Aivah' last='King']</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">King brings length to the middle, and she knows how to use it. Her reach allows her to get above the net and create difficult angles for defenders to handle. She also stays engaged throughout the rally and works to keep herself available when the offense gets out of system. What stands out is that King does not need to force every ball. She has a nice feel for finding space and making the smart play when the big swing is not there. That patience, paired with her physical tools, gives her another layer as an attacker. King continues to be a middle with plenty to watch as her game keeps growing.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1018168' first='Avery' last='Williams']</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Williams brings a heavy arm to the middle, and when she gets a clean look, she can attack any open space. She does a great job mixing up where she attacks from zone to zone. One swing might find the deep corner, while the next works the block or finds an open area of the court. That shot selection makes her difficult to settle in against. Williams also has a natural aggressiveness that shows when she is at the net. She wants to be involved and is not afraid to take a big swing when her number is called. As she continues to gain more experience and add even more consistency to her game, Williams has all the pieces to make a serious push.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Keeping an Eye on the Middle</h2>   <p>The rankings are never set in stone, especially with a class that continues to develop as quickly as the Class of 2028.</p>   <p>Moore, Gilbert, King, and Williams are all bringing something different to the middle position.
