DFC Day 2: Impact Middles to Catch in Action

The middle blocker group features some of Nevada's most efficient attackers and strongest net defenders heading into the Durango Fall Classic. From experienced seniors to younger players already making an impact, these middles bring size, blocking presence and the ability to score quickly when their teams are in system. Against high-level competition, their ability to control the net could make a big difference.    Jaeck has been one of Arbor View's most efficient front-row players, hitting .398 while adding 28 blocks. Her ability to play high-level on both sides of the ball gives the Aggies plenty of flexibility. With that combination of efficiency and blocking production, she is one of the more intriguing Nevada middles in the field.     Keyes brings experience and steady production to the middle for Faith Lutheran. She has already recorded 30 kills and 23 blocks this season, showing she can impact points both offensively and defensively at the net. Her 23 aces add another dimension, making her a middle who can also create pressure from the service line.     Deckard leads Sierra Vista at the net with 36 blocks and gives the Mountain Lions an experienced front-row presence. Her ability to take away space can help Sierra Vista turn opposing attacks into transition opportunities. She will be an important piece against the high-level offenses waiting in pool play.     Chomakos has been Durango's most efficient attacker, posting a .275 hitting efficiency while also contributing 10 blocks. Her production gives the Trailblazers another option through the middle when they are able to stay in system. As a senior playing in her home tournament, she will be an important front-row player for Durango.     Hall adds more size and depth to a Bishop Manogue front row that already has several strong options. At 6-foot-1, she gives the Miners another physical presence in the middle. Her blocking and ability to provide another attacking option could become valuable as Manogue works through multiple matches in a short period.     Dudzinski gives Coronado production in several areas, not just at the net. Her 49 kills and 27 blocks show she can contribute as both an attacker and blocker, while 19 aces add another scoring threat from the service line. With 31 digs as well, she brings a more complete all-around game than her front-row role might suggest.    Good luck to all of the Nevada teams competing at Durango Fall Classic.
