And we got to talk about them. These athletes are some of the early leaders in Michigan in the setting department. These players are one of the most underrated but yet, most valuable players on the court. The game runs through their hands and they can make or break a squad. Luckily for the programs with these setters, they're pretty good at their job!

Let's talk about some of the early assists stat leaders out of Michigan as of September 14th.

*All stats are received from MaxPreps, if you know an athlete with eye popping stats, be sure to let us know on instagram at PrepDigMichigan*

[player_tooltip player_id='1007121' first='Brielle' last='Eveland'] - Lowell

341 Assists Through 40 Sets

It's not everyday that you see a ROOKIE top a statistical list, but especially one like assists, that's something special. Lowell has slowly but surely been creeping back into the conversation after a strong run of play in the late 2010s. [player_tooltip player_id='1007121' first='Brielle' last='Eveland'] is the type of player that brings this program back to the limelight. Never one to schedule soft either, for Eveland to be a statistical leader at such a young age is even more impressive.

Hallie Johnson - Yale

341 Assists Through 44 Sets

Once more, we see another Yale Bulldog within the top ten of the stats. Hallie Johnson joins both Frazer and Runnals, this time in the assists category. No surprise here. When you have a leader in both digs and kills, it really shows the strength of the setter that connects the very two points.

Amaya Torrez - Croswell-Lexington

319 Assists Through 37 Sets

From one BWAC program to the next, Amaya Torrez has been putting up solid numbers all season long for Croswell-Lexington. Again, a bit of a no shock, when you see her with a weapon as prolific as [player_tooltip player_id='808004' first='Lauren' last='West']. Torrez though, really proves to the strength ofr the overall offense of the Pioneers. A team looking to challenge the dominant North Branch in conference play.

[player_tooltip player_id='546048' first='Liliana' last='Tripi'] - Utica Eisenhower

316 Assists Through 37 Sets

A familiar name, [player_tooltip player_id='546048' first='Liliana' last='Tripi'] has been one of the premier setters in the state for quite some time now, Entering her third and final season on varsity, Tripi has been a leader in all facets for quite sometime. She leads a high-octane Utica Eisenhower offense to another top ten ranked season thus far against staunch competition. Tripi is also adding some significant scoring power averaging nearly a kill, block and ace per set for Ike.

Camryn Hamina - Roscommon

311 Assists Through 37 Sets

It's quite promising to see a newbie to this role make such a significant impact as Camryn Hamina has made. This time last year, Zoey Kauffman was running the show. Hamina has not only stepped in after the veteran, but has made the transition look seemless. Roscommon remains one of the top teams in Division 3 and a serious contender for the title race.

[player_tooltip player_id='644142' first='Ava' last='Kiernan'] - South Lyon East

293 Assists Through 29 Sets

When you have a payer on your side like kills leader, [player_tooltip player_id='587564' first='Lexi' last='Coleman'], these numbers aren't too any shock. But what makes things really impressive is that [player_tooltip player_id='644142' first='Ava' last='Kiernan'] is finding herself in the top ten while sometimes being a hitter. Its the versatility that 6'2 Kiernan brings to the court that provides the option to do many different things. Meanwhile, she is still pushing some seriously impressive stat lines in her main position as a setter.

[player_tooltip player_id='709559' first='Kaelyn' last='Easton'] - Mercy

283 Assists Through 27 Sets

Despite missing the early goings of the season playing with Team USA in Peru, [player_tooltip player_id='709559' first='Kaelyn' last='Easton'] has immediately made her mark and hasn't looked back since. No shocker here, Easton was the catalyst to Mercy's championship run last fall as a freshman. Now, as a sophomore, things ony get better! Easton is finding herself with quite a bit of youth around her that are putting up serious numbers at the hands of her sets. Before long, Easton may very well be leading this stat category.

[player_tooltip player_id='512892' first='Brynn' last='Wilcox'] - Bloomfield Hills

271 Assists Through 34 Sets

[player_tooltip player_id='512892' first='Brynn' last='Wilcox'] really bursted onto the scene last year with Bloomfield Hills, leading the Blackhawks to their first ever state championship appearance. The senior setter was an assists leader last year with one of the most dominating attackers in all of Michigan with Kayla Nwabueze. While this year, she doesn't get the luxury of chucking it up to the automatic, Wilcox is trading that in for a well-balanced offense. Something that looks to be just as a dangerous machine than it was last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='939682' first='Kendall' last='Kwantes'] - South Christian

264 Assists Through 34 Sets

[player_tooltip player_id='761443' first='Meg' last='Schreur'] is leading the pack in the defensive department and now here is [player_tooltip player_id='939682' first='Kendall' last='Kwantes'] in the assists. This is a tandem that pushes a team to another top five ranked year. Kwantes, despite the loss of heavy hitter, Finley Arp, is finding ways to push South Christian over the edge. She's going towards balance and timeliness and it's showing to work big time.

Aivree Christensen - Morley Stanwood

258 Assists Through 36 Sets

When you have the kind of surrounding pieces that Aivree Christensen does, it is to no surprise to see her on the list. Not only does her job get a nice foundation from the incredible work in the back court, but she has the hitters to utilize at all angles of the court. Christensen is not only benefiting off of this, but she brings Morley Stanwood up another level or two!

Don't Miss a single moment of ALL THINGS VOLLEYBALL ON Line Shot Volleyball on Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook!

NCAA Weekend In Review:

#14 Purdue Upsets #8 SMU after Upsetting #3 Kentucky & Texas

The BEST in COLLEGE and the BEST in HIGH SCHOOL in ONE CITY?!
