We are just three weeks into the season and we are already seeing the stars emerge in Michigan!

From the veterans in the game to new blood vastly popping up to make their name known, these players are making an impression on the 2026 season!

When it comes to stats, the numbers don't lie. And we got to talk about them. These athletes are some of the early leaders in Michigan in the offensive department. These are the go-to arms on their respective teams, you can't miss them... And you maybe can't dig them either.

Let's talk about some of the early kill stat leaders out of Michigan as of September 14th.

*All stats are received from MaxPreps, if you know an athlete with eye popping stats, be sure to let us know on instagram at PrepDigMichigan*

[player_tooltip player_id='587564' first='Lexi' last='Coleman'] - South Lyon East

198 Kills on 27 Sets

Fresh off of a trip to Peru with the U17 National Team and a gold medal winning run, [player_tooltip player_id='587564' first='Lexi' last='Coleman'] is showing no signs of slow down. In the least sets played within the top ten, Coleman has quickly found herself atop the leaderboard for kills a second year in a row. She is doing against some staunch competition including run ins with Mercy, Rockford and Utica Eisenhower.

[player_tooltip player_id='816366' first='Madeline' last='Kozuch'] - Morley Stanwood

191 Kills on 36 sets

Not too far behind the sophomore supreme, [player_tooltip player_id='816366' first='Madeline' last='Kozuch'] is making quick work with her early season. She shown signs of this sort of play last fall, but wasn't quite as dominant. Well, that was a warning and she has officially arrived. No matter where she is on the court, Kozuch is producing big numbers for Morley Stanwood, a steadily emerging contender in D3.

[player_tooltip player_id='732306' first='Reese' last='Williams'] - Roscommon

189 Kills on 37 Sets

From one D3 phenom to the next, [player_tooltip player_id='732306' first='Reese' last='Williams'] is no stranger to big performances but somehow is looking like she's stepped her game up a notch or two. While Roscommon lost a bit of production in their offense with the graduation of Alexis Carper, Williams has more than closed that gap. Roscommon is once more a top contender for the Division 3 conversation and she is making herself a strong case as an early Miss Volleyball nominee next fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='584598' first='Allison' last='Stakoe'] - Bloomfield Hills

170 Kills on 34 Sets

A big question surrounding Bloomfield Hills this year was "What will they do without Kayla Nwabueze?"... Well, consider this your answer, [player_tooltip player_id='584598' first='Allison' last='Stakoe']. A season ago, Stakoe was a nice compliment to Nwabueze's dominance with a steady 3 kills per set. Fast forward to now, she is averaging nearly 5 kills per set at an alarming .375 clip. Stakoe has been able to do this against raucous comp that includes Marian, Brighton and Mercy.

[player_tooltip player_id='776808' first='Brynn' last='Johnson'] - Marshall

166 Kills on 36 Sets

This appearance is a shock to no one. When you're a kills leader all throughout your freshman season a year ago, there's only picking up where you left off. And that's exactly what [player_tooltip player_id='776808' first='Brynn' last='Johnson'] is doing, picking up and pushing ahead even further. Johnson will get tested here soon with some major match ups against Parma Western, Hudsonville and Edswardsburg in the next few weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='808004' first='Lauren' last='West'] - Croswell-Lexington

166 Kills on 36 Sets

2026 may be the season of [player_tooltip player_id='808004' first='Lauren' last='West']. While she's been a very promising prospect in her respective class, West is putting up some especially eye popping numbers this fall. From a 3.6 average in 2025, this fall she is putting up over another kill per set. West's impressive stat sheet will have to only continue as C-L enters a tough conference bout with teams like Richmond, North Branch and Yale in their midst.

[player_tooltip player_id='442987' first='Kate' last='Kalczynski'] - Mercy

149 Kills on 29 Sets

It's quite impressive to put up these kinds of numbers with the sheer amount of talent surrounding you. But when in doubt, find [player_tooltip player_id='442987' first='Kate' last='Kalczynski'] and she will deliver. Kalczynski heads up a dangerous three-headed monster for Mercy that includes two freshmen in [player_tooltip player_id='984451' first='Cate' last='Verkeyn'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1009098' first='Laura' last='Aubrey'].

[player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Kennedy' last='Duncan'] - South Lyon

145 Kills on 38 Sets

South Lyon has found itself on the brink of huge moves in the last few years surrounding the play of [player_tooltip player_id='456516' first='Kennedy' last='Duncan']. In her last go around in the jersey, Duncan is continuing to make her mark and carve it in a little deeper. With a tougher schedule, Duncan has yet to skip a beat and is continuing to put up big numbers.

[player_tooltip player_id='834387' first='Kylee' last='Backus'] - Utica

139 Kills on 53 Sets

You don't hear much about Utica, but it looks to be that that may change a bit given how many athletes they have in the top ten statistical lists. [player_tooltip player_id='834387' first='Kylee' last='Backus'] is making her appearance in the kills category. With nearly 140 kills in 53 sets, Backus does have nearly double the amount of sets comparative to her counterparts, but it doesn't make her any less effective in bringing in points for her team.

Taylor Frazer - Yale

138 Kills on 44 Sets

We cannot go throughout the fall without having a breakout freshman performance and it looks to be like it is going to be Taylor Frazer. Just in her first few weeks of varsity ball, Frazer is showcasing herself to be the face of Yale for the next several years. With 183 kills and hitting a smooth .202 on the season thus far, Frazer is making moves. We don't have the numbers from her most recent tournament, however, Taylor was a pivotal performer in leading Yale to the championship of the Birch Run Invitational
