Let's take a look at a few Games of the Week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>9/15 6A #4 Norman @ 6A #1 Edmond Santa Fe</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We got a semifinal or championship type matchup. Northside Edmond area vs the Southside Norman area. They have a 39-6 combined record. Both teams also just finish up a tough tournament weekend where they both only lost a single match but picked up some solid resume building wins.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Head Coach</strong> at Norman, Alexis Brendemihl. “We have to work on controlling the controllables. We have 2-3 players out every match with injuries or concussions and we are needing to fine tune what we have to work on no matter what players are on the court. We have had a great run this season in spite of the injuries.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Staying calm and consistent is our big focus right now. We just have to get up and stay up."&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Key Players:</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='297110' first='Zoe' last='Young'] setting for Norman just eclipsed the 1,000 assists mark for her career. Mix in [player_tooltip player_id='511388' first='Georgia' last='Caddell'], [player_tooltip player_id='821438' first='Izabella' last='Holasek'] and [player_tooltip player_id='740460' first='Peyton' last='Williams'] for Norman. [player_tooltip player_id='754412' first='Kenzie' last='Smith'] is a digging machine for ESF. You cant forget about [player_tooltip player_id='761797' first='EJ' last='Rice'] and [player_tooltip player_id='750956' first='Samaria' last='Kinyanjui'] or they will dent the hardwood. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>9/15 3A #15 Claremore Sequoyah @ 4A #7 Oologah</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These two teams are less than 15 miles apart and have already played each other once this season. Oologah may have won but it was such a close match that Seq actually had a higher point differential. This should be a fun match to watch if you are in NE Oklahoma.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Head Coach</strong> at Claremore Sequoyah, Zoe Kersey. “We've been a lot more consistent now than when we started. I think if we can stay consistent with our skills and our teamwork, we'll finish strong.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our main focus is working together, especially on defense.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Key Players:</strong> Emmyn Gibson from Seq can do just about everything really well. Her and [player_tooltip player_id='963244' first='Bella' last='Brown'] are solid players in both the back and front rows. [player_tooltip player_id='933710' first='Halle' last='Barron'] and [player_tooltip player_id='904414' first='Olivia' last='Thomason'] are the middle dou for the Mustangs that are both hard to slow down.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>9/17 4A #2 OCS @ 3A #2 Crossings Christian</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>#2 vs #2! You're gonna get a steady diet of hard driven balls and big time plays with this game. Both teams have massive firepower up front but also solid defensive play to balance it out. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Head Coach</strong> at OCS, Will Ethridge. “I have really enjoyed the season up to this point. We got a great group of girls.&nbsp; I don't feel like we've performed to our potential just yet. We still need to get better. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The primary focus in this matchup is our side of the court. Just too many giveaways right now, we need to play more consistent in every phase.&nbsp; Crossing has a few really good athletes that we definitely don't want to lose track of.&nbsp;We are looking forward to the match it should be a really good one."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Key Players:</strong> The [player_tooltip player_id='739808' first='Marley' last='Robbins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='739951' first='Kaylin' last='Cook'] connection for OCS is one you better disrupt or else.
