Tournament of the Week Recap: Claremore Classic

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Claremore Classic</h2>   Claremore hosted their annual varsity tournament this past weekend. It is always a pivotal tournament for 5A teams midway through the season. Last season it featured 7 ranked teams out of the 8 and again this season. It was a round robin format, so there was be a ton of action and plenty of big matchups. Lets take a look at how it ended and the All Tournament players selected.   Teams:   6A #16 Sand Springs 6A Muskogee   5A #2 Claremore 5A #3 Altus 5A #7 Shawnee 5A #14 Classen SAS 5A #15 Sapulpa 5A #19 Guthrie   All Tournament:   [player_tooltip player_id='749276' first='Addie' last='Ray']- Setter/Pin for Sand Springs. Addie was the ONLY player who was unanimously voted by all coaches in attendance and for good reason. She is legit! The power she has in both her swing and her top spin serve is hard to match across the state.   [player_tooltip player_id='736675' first='Madison' last='Godding']- DS for Claremore. Madison had a great day 2. Her ability to cover a ton of space in SR creates issues for opposing teams' servers. Tack on 55 digs this weekend and you get a player who is frustrating to play against.   [player_tooltip player_id='1041398' first='JaNya' last='Bruner']- Right Side Hitter for Shanwee. If you have gotten to see JaNya play, you know what I mean when I say she absolutely jumps out of the gym! This allows her to high point the ball better than most and hit over the top of some blocks.   [player_tooltip player_id='1041401' first='Emmrie' last='Canterbury']- Right Side Hitter/Setter for Sand Springs. Emmrie did a great job for SS. She was a solid hitting option all tournament. She hit an outstanding .636 in the first match of the tournament alone.   [player_tooltip player_id='285769' first='Grace' last='Baughman']- Setter/Right Side Hitter for Claremore. She led her team with 12 aces and 67 assists. She affects the game in a plethora of ways. She also recently committed to D2 NSU.   [player_tooltip player_id='874963' first='Brooklyn' last='Barnett']- Outside Hitter for Sapulpa. Brooklyn is now 3-3 on being voted to the all tournament team. She is the most consistent attacking option for the Chieftains. Look for her to possibly go 4-4 by the end of next weekend.   [player_tooltip player_id='757040' first='Kaprie' last='Craddock']- Outside Hitter for Altus. Kaprie is also batting 1.000 for the season on being an all tournament selection. She is an offensive juggernaut for the Bulldogs. You can see her hitting from all 3 locations on the net.   [player_tooltip player_id='611343' first='Emme' last='Baker']- Outside Hitter for Claremore. Emme came to play this weekend! She led the team with 40 kills on the weekend. Her serve and SR parts of her game are really coming along and she is turning into six rotations of solid play!   Anastacia Williams-Cortez- Middle Blocker for Guthrie. Guthrie has only had a HS program for a couple years but they are doing a great job. The development of Anastacia showcases how well the coaches are doing. She was a top player for the Bluejays and brought immense value both offensively and defensively.   Evelyn Bruner- Setter/Pin for Classen SAS. Evelyn can do it all. She clearly has a ton of floor IQ. Evelyn and company were able to snag a couple wins this weekend. Even if they didn't win, they made teams work hard for it and gained a ton of respect from teams who hadn't seen them yet.
