West Highlights at East vs. West

West tournament has become a must play. This tournament not only puts the best against each other, but puts the best alongside each other. Not only will you compete with your squad, but alongside others to determine 'which side is best', east or west? </p>   <p>In this year's edition, yet again, the East side prevailed victorious with a 13-10 record over the west side. But don't get it twisted, the West is still very much a strong presence with all teams presenting strong showings despite missing some of its best. For the east, the very best were on tap, it would be a tough hill to climb, regardless.</p>   <p>The west side always brings a tough fight and these 8 players really packed a punch this weekend. Take a look at some of the highlight players from this weekend's East Vs. West Showdown.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='827359' first='Megan' last='Glass'] - Hudsonville</h2>   <p>This is easily one of the best middle blockers in the entire state this season. Whether it is her blocking terrorizing attackers, or its her own punch down in the middle scoring points, [player_tooltip player_id='827359' first='Megan' last='Glass'] is a trailblazer for Hudsonville. She was a key cog to the Eagles success throughout the weekend and is a player all teams need to key in on.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='888951' first='Piper' last='Vugteveen'] - Hudsonville</h2>   <p>Right alongside Glass, this rising star in [player_tooltip player_id='888951' first='Piper' last='Vugteveen'] is picking up the heat. On the pins, this player can become a dominating player and was showcasing an array of big swings this weekend. Her alongside Glass lead this team in point production and creat a wicked 1-2 punch.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='888958' first='Ellery' last='Bieneman'] - Lowell</h2>   <p>Another massive middle from the west side, [player_tooltip player_id='888958' first='Ellery' last='Bieneman'] is going to be a name we talk about for years to come. Only a sophomore, Bieneman is one of many underclassman on this talented Lowell team. She was a points leader for the Red Arrows and her work opted her for All-Tournament team selection at the tournament.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='712151' first='Lily' last='Eveland'] - Lowell</h2>   <p>While the young guns go put the ball away, [player_tooltip player_id='712151' first='Lily' last='Eveland'], one of the lone upperclassmen is holding it down in the libero jersey. If there is anything to ever know about a Lowell squad, it is that they will always have a talented first touch, Eveland falls right in line with that trend. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='454371' first='Riley' last='Loehfelm'] - Forest Hills Northern</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='454371' first='Riley' last='Loehfelm'] was one of the many Miss Volleyball nominees on tap at East vs. West and she did not disappoint. The 6'0 six rotation outside hitter truly does it all for the Huskies. From her first contact, to her defense and then rounding it out with her scoring prowess, Loehfelm was put to good use this weekend and delivered.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='486269' first='Brooke' last='Johnson'] - Forest Hills Northern</h2>   <p>Right alongside Loehfelm, [player_tooltip player_id='486269' first='Brooke' last='Johnson'] creates a 1-2 punch for FHN. Whether she is swinging on the pins, through the middle or out of the back row, Johnson can score at ease throughout any route she chooses. Johnson's ability to play a strong overall game really opens up things for Forest Hills Northern in ways to push this team over most opponents.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='464378' first='Ava' last='Bush-Nelson'] - Jenison</h2>   <p>When you're looking for a player to grab a quick point or two, look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='464378' first='Ava' last='Bush-Nelson']. Her arm is as dynamic as they come and it was quite a feat to stop or slow down. Bush-Nelson had a huge weekend. She managed to lead her squad to a big upset win over the No. 1 Ranked Mercy while almost downing the No. 2 ranked squad in Marian. Jenison is once again one of those dark horse teams, all with ABN at the front of it all.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Erin Eriks - Jenison</h2>   <p>While I am mostly familiar with all of these names on this list, this is a player that really caught my eye that I wasn't too keen on before. Erin Eriks looks to be having a breakout senior season and maybe the X Factor for this dark horse, Jenison team.
