The Division 2 district tournaments have a lot of intrigue and should feature some highly-competitive brackets.

Here's my pick for each of the 32 districts taking place next week in D2.

District 33 at Escanaba

Teams: Gladstone, Negaunee, Houghton, Escanaba, Kingsford

Prediction: In this Northern district, Kingsford has already managed to pick up wins against the field, so I'll stick with them to prevail.

District 34 at Sault Ste Marie

Teams: Kalkaska, Sault Ste Marie, Grayling, Cheboygan, Kingsley

Prediction: Kingsley has held its own after moving up from D3. Last year's D3 champs should add some more hardware next week thanks to [player_tooltip player_id='833201' first='Jenna' last='Middleton'].

District 35 at Big Rapids

Teams: Big Rapids, Ludington, Reed City, Chippewa Hills

Prediction: Reed City and Big Rapids have had some close matches this year, but I expect Big Rapids to get the title at home thanks in part to the play of standout freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1001522' first='Torrie' last='Tacia'].

District 36 at Clare

Teams: Bullock Creek, Standish-Sterling, Gladwin, Clare, Ogemaw Heights

Prediction: Ogemaw Heights has had success against the other teams in this bracket, so don't look for that to change next week.

District 37 at Alma

Teams: Owosso, Chesaning, Corunna, St. Johns, Shepherd, Alma

Prediction: The Panthers have some notable wins on the year and have taken sets from multiple ranked teams. I like them to prevail at home.

District 38 at Garber

Teams: Carrollton, Bay City John Glenn, Bridgeport, Swan Valley, Freeland, Garber

Prediction: Garber was able to make a deep postseason run two years ago and has the potential to do the same in 2026 behind the play of [player_tooltip player_id='458372' first='Jeana' last='Lenhard'].

District 39 at Frankenmuth

Teams: Flint Powers Catholic, Clio, Flint New Standard Academy, Flint Southwestern, Birch Run, Frankenmuth

Prediction: Frankenmuth looks like it could be a real title contender this year. The Eagles are playing well together and [player_tooltip player_id='850401' first='Avery' last='Geer'] is a great floor leader at setter.

District 40 at North Branch

Teams: Croswell-Lexington, Yale, Imlay City, Caro, North Branch

Prediction: The Broncos are at home and playing well. [player_tooltip player_id='888384' first='Allysse' last='Deshetsky'] should have North Branch continuing their upward trend next week at home.

District 41 at Fremont

Teams: Muskegon Orchard View, Whitehall, Montague, Muskegon Oakridge, Fremont

Prediction: A lot of familiar opponents collide in this district. Fremont has been playing well as of late, so I like the Packers to continue that in this bracket.

District 42 at Newaygo

Teams: Howard City Tri-County, Sparta, Newaygo, Central Montcalm, Grant

Prediction: Grant is the team I like in this district. It should be a very competitive district final, but I give the Tigers the edge.

District 43 at GR Covenant Christian

Teams: GR Kenowa Hills, Spring Lake, Allendale, GR Covenant Christian, Fruitport

Prediction: This should be a solid district, as previous meetings between some of these teams have been nail-biters. I will give Fruitport the edge, but it's a coin toss.

District 44 at Grand Rapids West Catholic

Teams: Comstock Park, GR West Catholic, GR NorthPointe Christian, Belding, Forest Hills Eastern

Prediction: Forest Hills Eastern has played a really tough schedule that should have it prepared to win next week. Look for a big week from [player_tooltip player_id='842444' first='Elsa' last='Kleff'].

District 45 at Wyoming Kelloggsville

Teams: Wyoming Kelloggsville, Grand River Prep, Godwin Heights, Wyoming Lee, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, Grand Rapids Christian

Prediction: Grand Rapids CC has a lot of talent, but is running into a heavily-talented Grand Rapids Christian squad. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='442982' first='Grace' last='Goodyke'], I like the Eagles to earn the title.

District 46 at Hopkins

Teams: Hudsonville Unity Christian, Hamilton, Hopkins, Wayland, GR South Christian, Holland Christian

Prediction: This is a solid district that should feature a great final. I like South Christian to emerge with the championship thanks to the defensive effort of [player_tooltip player_id='761443' first='Meg' last='Schreur'].

District 47 at South Haven

Teams: Paw Paw, Plainwell, Allegan, Benton Harbor, South Have, Otsego

Prediction: Otsego looks like the team to beat in this one. With Brooke Smalldon playing at a high level, it's hard to see the Bulldogs coming up short.

District 48 at Edwardsburg

Teams: Dowagiac, Berrien Springs, Buchanan, Niles, Stevensville Lakeshore, Edwardsburg

Prediction: The Eddies are a solid team and get to host the district. [player_tooltip player_id='825043' first='Ella' last='Laskowski'] has the ability to take over a match and should guide Edwardsburg to the title.

District 49 at Lakewood

Teams: Hastings, Charlotte, GR West Michigan Aviation Academy, Portland, Lakewood, Ionia

Prediction: Ionia and Lakewood played a five-setter earlier this year, it could happen again in a potential district final. [player_tooltip player_id='835029' first='Logan' last='Thomas'] and [player_tooltip player_id='644262' first='Amaya' last='Frias'] give the Bulldogs the edge.

District 50 at Parma Western

Teams: Three Rivers, Vicksburg, Marshall, Battle Creek Pennfield, Parma Western

Prediction: Parma Western and Marshall had a five-set thriller earlier this year. [player_tooltip player_id='776808' first='Brynn' last='Johnson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='741882' first='Georgia' last='Addleman'] are two outstanding sophomores, but I am going to go with Addleman's Panthers to prevail.

District 51 at Williamston

Teams: Haslett, Eaton Rapids, Fowlerville, Lansing Sexton, Williamston, Lansing Catholic

Prediction: Lansing Catholic has had good success against the field in this bracket and they have a game-changing middle in [player_tooltip player_id='826916' first='Kyra' last='Vukovic']. That gives the Cougars the edge.

District 52 at Tecumseh

Teams: Michigan Center, Adrian, Adrian Madison, Pinckney, Chelsea, Tecumseh

Prediction: Tecumseh is at home and has the most explosive hitter in [player_tooltip player_id='885461' first='Riley' last='Harrah']. That should be enough to propel it to victory.

District 53 at Dundee

Teams: Dundee, Milan, Ida, Ann Arbor Greenhills, Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard

Prediction: Gabriel Richard has quietly picked up an impressive set of wins and looks like a real threat in D2. Led by a pair of freshmen in [player_tooltip player_id='888979' first='Mia' last='Keefer'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1043330' first='Janie' last='Osness'], I like the Irish to take the district.

District 54 at Carleton Airport

Teams: Monroe Jefferson, Carleton Airport, Grosse Ile, Romulus Summit Academy North, New Boston Huron, Flat Rock

Prediction: I can't pick against last year's finalist, Flat Rock, in this one. [player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux'] is just too much for any team in this district to stop.

District 55 at Dearborn Heights Robichaud

Teams: Ecorse, Dearborn Heights Robichaud, Dearborn Henry Ford Academy, Romulus, Dearborn Heights Annapolis, Canton Prep

Prediction: Whichever team has its serving on this week should come away with the district title. I will pick Canton Prep to prevail.

District 56 at Clarenceville

Teams: Redford Westfield Prep, Clarenceville, Redford Union, Wixom St. Catherine, Dearborn Heights Star International, Dearborn Divine Child

Prediction: Divine Child is a dark horse in the entire tournament. The Falcons have picked up a lot of nice wins and should continue to do so in this district. [player_tooltip player_id='915670' first='Maddy' last='Willis'] has done great things for DC at setter this season.

District 57 at Detroit Voyageur College Prep

Teams: Detroit University Prep, Detroit University Prep Art & Design, Detroit Voyageur College Prep, Dearborn Advanced Tech Academy, Detroit Aztec Eagles Academy

Prediction: This district feels very up for grabs, but I will go with Detroit Aztec Eagles Academy, as it's managed to prevail in some lengthy matches during the season.

District 58 at Detroit East English

Teams: Detroit Southeastern, Detroit University Prep Science & Math, Detroit Osborn, Detroit East English, Detroit Edison

Prediction: This is a big opportunity for these Detroit programs to earn a district title. I give Detroit Edison the slight edge.

District 59 at Center Line

Teams: St. Clair Shores South Lake, Eastpointe, Chandler Park, Warren Lincoln, Center Line, Warren Regina

Prediction: Regina has a balanced attack behind the setting of [player_tooltip player_id='749400' first='Lillyana' last='Pitters'], so I like it to be able to power its way to a district title.

District 60 at Richmond

Teams: Marine City, Marysville, Richmond, Algonac, St. Clair

Prediction: Being at home, the Blue Devils should be able to take care of business. [player_tooltip player_id='454366' first='Jordyn' last='Jones'] is capable to taking over a match and helping Richmond take the title.

District 61 at Lake Fenton

Teams: Goodrich, Almont, Flint Hamady, Lake Fenton, Ortonville Brandon, Linden

Prediction: A lot of Flint Metro League presence in this district, and I think Linden has the edge based on its results. [player_tooltip player_id='802603' first='Lila' last='Nester'] should be a difference-maker in the back row.

District 62 at Macomb Lutheran North

Teams: Macomb Lutheran North, Armada, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, Madison Heights Lamphere

Prediction: Lutheran North is having a great year and the play of [player_tooltip player_id='920480' first='Victoria' last='Burnham'] in the back row should set it apart from the rest of the field.

District 63 at Detroit Country Day

Teams: Detroit Communicated Media Arts, Detroit Henry Ford, Detroit Lincoln-King, Detroit Cody, Detroit Country Day

Prediction: This two-time defending state champions should have their way in this district. [player_tooltip player_id='574175' first='Payton' last='Woodruff'] will keep the Yellowjackets rolling.

District 64 at Ferndale

Teams: Detroit Pershing, Ferndale University, Ferndale, Detroit Central, Hazel Park

Prediction: Playing at home should give Ferndale the boost it needs to come away with the district title next week.

The Division 2 district tournaments have a lot of intrigue and should feature some highly-competitive brackets.

Here's my pick for each of the 32 districts taking place next week in D2. District 33 at Escanaba Teams: Gladstone, Negaunee, Houghton, Escanaba, Kingsford Prediction: In this Northern district, Kingsford has already managed to pick up wins against the field, so I'll stick with them to prevail. District 34 at Sault Ste Marie Teams: Kalkaska, Sault Ste Marie, Grayling, Cheboygan, Kingsley Prediction: Kingsley has held its own after moving up from D3. Last year's D3 champs should add some more hardware next week thanks to [player_tooltip player_id='833201' first='Jenna' last='Middleton']. District 35 at Big Rapids Teams: Big Rapids, Ludington, Reed City, Chippewa Hills Prediction: Reed City and Big Rapids have had some close matches this year, but I expect Big Rapids to get the title at home thanks in part…
