Regional pairings have officially come out and we now know where every team in class 4A is headed. The way regionals in volleyball are decided is based mainly off rankings. Rankings are based on head coaches of each program voting. The top 8 teams get to host a regional tournament. Then seeds 9-16 are placed as such, 1-16, 2-15, 3-14...etc. From there, OSSAA does their best to keep the pattern going all the way to 32 but they do try to account for geography to help make some logical switches. Once the 8 regional tournaments are set, they play a single elimination style tournament amongst the four teams and whoever is the champ of each regional, they move onto the state tournament. Where those 8 coaches will rerank and they seed state based off that. Let's take a look at regions 1-4, the teams in them and players to watch.

Regional #1

Host: Mount St. Mary

Teams: #16 Blanchard, Tecumseh, and Harding CharterPrep.

MSM is the top dawg for a reason! They are loaded with talent and primed to make an other run at a title. Blanchard has had a few solid wins down the stretch such as Duncan, Newcastle and and Noble.

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='822748' first='Blair' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='697434' first='Isabella' last='Williams'] are a dominate duo that no team is excited to see across the net. Now that [player_tooltip player_id='554318' first='Jentri' last='Denwalt'] has a state tournament appearance under her belt, she is going to be locked and loaded this year!

Regional #2

Host: Heritage Hall

Teams: #15 Verdigris, Pathways, and Douglass.

Heritage Hall is on a 22 game win streak and with their win over MSM, they have a reach chance to host the gold ball too. Verdigris is loaded with seniors that have lots of experience.

Players to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='739531' first='Mia' last='Guerrero'], [player_tooltip player_id='750116' first='Adilynn' last='McMahan'] and company will have to try and find a way to slow down [player_tooltip player_id='960039' first='Leeya' last='Mcdaniel'], [player_tooltip player_id='752541' first='Reece' last='Foster'] , Sam Scott, and [player_tooltip player_id='773615' first='Raegan' last='Ferris'] for the Chargers.

Regional #3

Host: OCS

Teams: #14 Locust Grove, Star-Spencer, and Perkins-Tryon.

It may seem like it's a two team race but do NOT sleep on OCS. Behind their new coach who is an absolute legend, he has them peaking at the right time. After the weekend they had, no team is safe in Oklahoma.

Players to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='739808' first='Marley' last='Robbins'], [player_tooltip player_id='534842' first='Sloane' last='Rattay'], and [player_tooltip player_id='739951' first='Kaylin' last='Cook'] are all college commits who are playmakers. OCS may have the most firepower out of any team in 4A.

Regional #4

Host: Victory Chistian

Teams: #13 Skiatook, Wagoner, and Seminole.

Since week 2 of the season, VC hasn't lost a game in the state of Oklahoma. Wins over #1 Cascia Hall, Metro, Holland Hall and Lincoln showcase just how dangerous this team can be.

Players to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='740630' first='Evelyn' last='Goodwin'], [player_tooltip player_id='740640' first='Kenzie' last='Benningfield'], [player_tooltip player_id='818961' first='Simi' last='Adeyemi'], and [player_tooltip player_id='740825' first='Jade' last='Hurley'] are all players capable of racking up kills in heart beat.

With playoffs here, we wish everyone safe travels and best of luck at regionals.
