Central Michigan Area’s Names To Know In 2026, Part 1

She doesn't need a great set to be able to power through the ball, as her leaping ability and mechanics lead to a lot of explosive attacks. She can play the aggressive lines and leave defenders stunned at her power.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='710236' first='Morgan' last='Borodychuk'], Jr. OH Mt. Pleasant</strong></h2>   <p>If you're looking for a player that has one of the best all-around stat lines in the state, Borodychuk is a great candidate. This fall, she's already set a career-best in kills (336), while also adding in 258 digs, 51 blocks, and 42 aces. Borodychuk is definitely a polished player that can impact in every phase of the game.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='817491' first='Olivia' last='Brown'], Jr. OH St. Louis</strong></h2>   <p>The Sharks have a special player in their midst. She has racked up the kills by the dozen for St. Louis this season. At 6'1”, Brown has length that poses a problem, but she's also got the footwork and technique to put the ball almost anywhere she wants.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1009770' first='Waverly' last='Diegel'], Fr. OH Midland Dow</strong></h2>   <p>Diegel is making an immediate impact for Dow this fall thanks to a high level of court awareness and good decision-making. Diegel has plenty of power and good form on her swing, but she's also got a high ceiling for where she can still take her game.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Mia Janicke, Sr. L Bay City Western</strong></h2>   <p>Janicke is putting in the work in the back row to keep the Warriors playing competitively alongside the top teams in the Central Michigan area. The senior is nearing 300 digs on the season and been very steady in her play on serve receive.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='816366' first='Madeline' last='Kozuch'], Sr. OH Morley Stanwood</strong></h2>   <p>We talked about Kozuch being a Player of the Year nominee in Division 3, as she's one of the state's kill leaders with 464 on the year while hitting .330. She recently passed 1,000 in her career. Kozuch also has over 300 digs and 68 aces on the season. She's doing a bit of everything for a D3 contender.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Elise McDonald, Sr. OH Shepherd</strong></h2>   <p>McDonald has been doing good things for the Bluejays for years and is continuing to have strong offensive numbers for them this fall. The ball really flies off her hand thanks to an aggressive finish on her swing. She also has shown the ability to make clean first contact and transition into a powerful kill with ease.</p>
