New 2030 Additions Standing Out This Fall

These five players from across the state have made their mark on varsity rosters this season, whether they are the number one option or a prospect biding their time while improving behind talented upperclassmen. This group has players from several classifications, and many should get their first taste of the post-season as the calendar nears November. Gautreaux checks in at a true 6'2" or taller, and the 2030 outside hitter unloads with a heavy arm swing that has helped Pullman stretch their record to 12-0 in non-tournament matches this fall. Gautreaux was clutch from both pins in the Greyhounds' gutty five-set win over West Valley Spokane on the road last week. She delivered 17 kills and a menacing block that forced opposing attackers to adjust their swings. Bellarmine Prep is relying on the 6'0" Haley to take nearly 25 swings a match, and the 2030 pin delivered double-digit kills in recent victories versus Lincoln and Mount Tahoma. Haley isn't afraid to work a swing off block to score, and she gets her feet to the ball and swings for the deep corner with confidence. Froese has an excellent overall skill set; the 2030 from Squalicum has racked up kills, aces, and digs all season for the Storm, and the team is 9-2. An undersized outside hitter with a smooth arm swing, Froese has excellent footwork and gets off the floor quickly. The Storm offense does an outstanding job varying her hitting routes, freeing her to use her vision and arm talent to generate kills. Issaquah has one of the top 4A teams this season, and Allison is playing alongside terrific players in a varsity training environment during her freshman season. In limited opportunities, she has delivered 19 kills while hitting a sterling .633%. As Allison gains strength and opportunity, we expect her game to improve exponentially; her eye work and press as a middle blocker are sound, and her offensive game continues to make strides. Kaiwi has been torturing Hazen opponents this fall from the service line, the pin, and the pipe. As a freshman, she has played six rotations and performed extremely well, with a season high of 14 kills twice this season, 22 digs in a win against Auburn, and 8 aces against Redmond. That is a well-rounded skill set! Kaiwi will swing high and hard when she needs to as an undersized outside; she is dangerous from the pipe when she frequently has just the middle blocker up to contend with. The Hazen 2030's serve is truly hard to handle. She hits it flat and hard, creating a diving, late float that ties up passers and generates aces and free balls for the Highlanders.
