Recent Dub-Dub Report

I enjoy looking through the box scores and seeing who is putting together big nights across the state. Sometimes, the numbers jump off the page, and that's where The Dub-Dub comes in. Each week, we recognize players who record double-doubles, with extra consideration for those who do it in two or three sets. This week, five players caught my attention Tuesday evening, including one who took it a step further with a triple-double. [player_tooltip player_id='720350' first='Kendyl' last='Edwards'], East Buchanan — Edwards stuffed the stat sheet with 34 assists and 11 digs in East Buchanan's sweep of St. Joseph Christian. Dishing out 34 assists in a three-set match is an impressive offensive performance, and Edwards added plenty of work on the defensive side to complete the double-double. I also saw Edwards live over the weekend and was very impressed with her poise. Lauren Bos, Clever — Bos did a little bit of everything for the Blue Jays, recording a trip-dub with 10 kills, 13 digs, and 17 assists. Her ability to contribute as a hitter, defender, and playmaker made for an all-around performance worth recognizing. Not many players can say they have a triple-double on their resume! [player_tooltip player_id='772321' first='Claire' last='Ezzell'], South Holt — Ezzell delivered a strong offensive showing with 19 kills while adding 12 digs. Her ability to produce points and contribute defensively helped her earn a spot among this week's honorees. [player_tooltip player_id='897186' first='Marissa' last='Falconer'], Hannibal — Falconer recorded 11 kills and 13 digs in Hannibal's sweep of Kirksville. She made her presence felt on both sides of the net, helping the Pirates secure the victory in straight sets. Alyssa Scherr, Helias — Scherr rounded out this week's group with 30 assists and 10 digs. As a setter, she orchestrated the offense while also making contributions defensively, showing the kind of all-around effort that makes a double-double possible. Five players, five standout performances, and plenty of reasons to keep digging through those box scores. That's what The Dub-Dub is all about: recognizing the players whose numbers tell the story of a big night on the court.
