Plenty of high-end recruits dot each roster, and both teams are looking for their first state title in volleyball. However, that doesn't mean she's not highly effective. I mentioned that the Chargers have a two-headed offensive monster as part of their M.O., yet the setter is the most important part of (1) when each monster gets the ball, (2) in what situations to people get the ball, and (3) how off-balance she can keep the opposing defense. The SMU commit is a high-flying, full-go and no-quit pin attacker that can do what she does from anywhere in any tempo of set and at any time. Calm in the platform and quick with her feet, Miss Dakin has that innate ability to be where the ball is and take pressure off of her teammates just by taking that extra step. Defensively, Tatum stays in her lane, making the second ball that much easier to turn an out-of-system dig into a hittable (and scorable) attack. Yes, we all know who the primary attacker for the Bruins is. Yet it's Tatum's job to keep the Charger defense honest enough to hoist a big state-shaped trophy at the end of the night.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
