Behind the attacks were players keeping rallies alive and putting their hitters in position to score. During the Southern 2A semifinals at GV Christian on October 31, setters and defensive playmakers stood out through their ball placement, court coverage, and pursuit. From emergency sets to repeated saves within a single rally, these six players made their impact by giving their teams another opportunity.

[player_tooltip player_id='717733' first='Olivia' last='Torres'], a senior libero for GV Christian, stood out through her passing and court coverage against Founders Classical Academy. She used a controlled platform to direct serve receive passes toward her setter and keep hard-driven attacks playable. When the offense moved out of system, Torres stepped in with bump sets to the outside to give her team an attacking opportunity. She stayed active on her feet, covering blocked attacks and recovering balls to extend rallies. Throughout the match, her communication with teammates complemented her defensive work and involvement in the offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='681114' first='Jenna' last='Pulcini'], a junior setter and right side hitter for GV Christian, contributed in several roles against Founders Classical Academy. She served consistently and provided an attacking option from the right side while in the front row. In the back row, Pulcini hustled to reach balls and keep her team's offense moving. Her footwork helped her get into position to deliver sets her hitters could turn into attacking opportunities. That combination of setting, serving, and attacking allowed her to contribute throughout the rotation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1059461' first='Zixia' last='He'], a junior setter for Founders Classical Academy, paired hustle with composure against GV Christian. As the match grew tense, Kulani continued pursuing balls and making saves that extended rallies. She also brought purpose to her free balls, sending them deep into corners rather than giving White Pine an easy return.
