Southwest Michigan’s Star Standouts in 2026, Part 2

She's a powerful left-handed hitter that can terminate from anywhere on the court. Her swing is simple and effective, as she's able to stay vertical and play above the block, while generating a lot of power without a big wind up. Breton is only getting better each week.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='965713' first='Lanie' last='Overbeek']. So. OH BC Lakeview</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>BC Lakeview doesn't have just one talented sophomore outside, it has two. Overbeek has been a huge part of the Spartans success this year as well with over 360 kills and 340 digs. She keeps adding to her game each week and is proving she can compete with the best.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Annemarie Pelak, Jr. OH Mattawan</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pelak has had a nice jump up in play in her junior year for Mattawan. She's ramped up her kill numbers while also finishing at a higher rate. She's also been steady with her defensive play, being able to make a play in all areas of the game to give Mattawan a lift.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='905632' first='Elyse' last='Reinholt'], So. OH Kalamazoo Central</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Reinholt has made a splash in her sophomore season, putting up nearly 400 kills while providing some boost to her team's defense and serving. With increased swings, Reinholt has improved on her consistency in finishing points and looks to be a player to watch in the upcoming years.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='839825' first='Camille' last='Robinson'], Sr. OH Harper Creek</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Robinson has known there was a lot on her shoulders this year and she's still come through with flying colors. The senior has put up over 550 kills this fall while playing with some of the best intensity you can find around the state. Robinson has also proven to be a defensive asset, with over 300 digs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1007260' first='Skylar' last='Stephens'], Fr. DS/L Portage Central</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Already with a talented young setter, Portage Central also has one of the top freshman defenders in the state. Stephens has looked like anything but a freshman this year, as she's dug up some of the best hitters in the state while amassing nearly 400 digs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442228' first='Avery' last='Thorp'], Sr. MB Plainwell</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Thorp stands 6'2” and she springs off the floor to play well above the net. She's worked hard on her attack angles and can deliver on swings that just can't be dug up on a lot of occasions. Plus, she's a real energy player for her team with her emphatic kills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='812980' first='Elli' last='Vandusen'], Sr. OH/MB Kalamazoo Christian</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With a lot of new pieces on the Comets' roster, VanDusen has been the constant, finishing regularly at the net by using a mixture of shot speeds and attack angles. VanDusen has kept Kalamazoo Christian in the mix in D3 once again while piling up dozens of kills per match.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='848766' first='Hadley' last='Wagaman'], Jr. DS/L Bronson</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wagaman has been all over the back row to keep Bronson in the mix against a really tough schedule. She's compiled over 1,000 digs in her last two seasons and has been the glue that holds the Vikings together this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='743769' first='Joeleigh' last='White'], Jr. S Gull Lake</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>White plays with a lot of composure and control and has sparked Gull Lake to a solid season in terms of wins. She shows a high level of accuracy and consistency in her play while also being able to make some scrappy defensive plays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
