Kamri Hubbell is an incredibly well-rounded athlete, and her impact at the showcase extended far beyond simply delivering a great second ball. She showed that she can contribute in nearly every phase of the game and, more importantly, was willing to do whatever was needed to help her team find success.

Whether Kamri was asked to defend, attack, or run the offense, she stepped into the moment with confidence. Defensively, it was evident that the athletes around her trusted her to make a play. When she had an opportunity to attack, she wasn’t hesitant to take the swing herself. That versatility gave her another dimension as a setter and made her someone opponents had to account for throughout the rally.

As a setter, Kamri showed great control and consistency. She delivered a quality ball to the outside from a variety of situations, but she certainly wasn’t afraid to utilize the rest of the net. She did a great job moving the ball around, involving different hitters, and keeping the opposing defense and blockers guessing. Rather than becoming predictable, Kamri showed the confidence and decision-making to take advantage of the options available to her.

Her speed was another major asset throughout the showcase. Kamri covered an impressive amount of ground and competed to make a play on just about anything. Even when the first contact wasn’t perfect, she worked hard to get herself underneath the ball and give her hitters an opportunity to score. That combination of athleticism, versatility, decision-making, and all-out effort makes Kamri an exciting young floor general, and we’re looking forward to watching her continue to develop her game.
