Houston Stock Up Showcase Top Performers Vol 2

Prep Dig Texas Showcases are back! We had some big events that were held at the Competitive Edge Sports Complex on July 25th. The Houston Stock Up showcase was amazing! These events always bring together athletes from across the state looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. There were tons of awesome players that we evaluated from their awesome production. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors at the Houston Stock Up showcase.    Olivia was one of the more complete outside hitters in the freshman class at the Houston showcase and her performance across the full day of competition made that clear. Her approach footwork was swift and balanced and her arm swing generated consistent power at the pin against blockers who were adjusting to her throughout the scrimmage segments. What stood out to court coaches was the decision-making behind the swing. She read the block early, adjusted her shot selection when the obvious angle was taken away, and competed with the kind of focused patience that younger outside hitters often lack. Her serve receive was dependable and her defensive engagement in the back row showed a player who understands that the left side is a two-way position. The 2030 class in San Antonio is starting to establish itself at the national level and Barber is one of the players leading that conversation. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.     Miss Beltran earned a Top Performer award and anyone who watched her compete in Spring understood immediately how that happened. Her lateral quickness was exceptional throughout the day and she consistently reached balls that taller defenders in the same gym had already written off before their first step. The platform she brought to serve receive was disciplined and repeatable, and she held her passing accuracy at a high level even when servers were going directly at her with pace and angle. She competed with a confidence that never crossed into carelessness staying sharp and communicative across every rotation from the opening drill segment through the final scrimmage. College programs looking for a libero who plays significantly bigger than her measurements suggest need to get Jocelyn on their evaluation list right now. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.     Audrina plays both the right side and left side and at the Houston showcase she showed enough on both sides of the net to make that versatility feel like a genuine weapon rather than a listed attribute on a profile page. At 5'9" in the class of 2030, she has the frame to be dangerous at either pin and her attacking mechanics were consistent throughout the day whether she was working from the right or stepping in on the left. Court coaches pointed to her net engagement on the right side as a particular strength, noting how she closed on the block with purpose. Her communication with setters she had never played with before was natural and immediate, which tells you something about her volleyball IQ and her ability to build chemistry quickly in an unfamiliar system. She led with composure throughout the scrimmage segments, and the sportsmanship she carried through the full day of competition was visible to everyone on the floor.
