Freshman Showcase Performances that Can’t Be Forgotten

These players caught my eye with the way they competed, made plays, and showed off their skills on the court. She has quick feet and a quick arm, allowing her to get up and attack with flare. She did a solid job finding both corners of the court. She also showcased that she can do more than just attack from the middle. She moves well to get to just about everything sent her way, but she also has the ability to adjust her attack when needed. Her agility and versatility really stood out as she showcased how to make something out of sets that were too far off the pin or too tight to the net. She showed off some great reversals, got to the ball quickly, and seemed to track down just about everything. She also showed solid tempo and did a nice job keeping the offense moving. She transitions quickly off the net, gets her feet to the ball, and has a fast arm that allows her to attack with some heat on it. She is also quick enough to transition off the pass and still be an effective hitting option. Cragoe does a nice job mixing up her shots, going both down the line and cross court to keep defenders guessing.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["991471"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6a7e870a3844d"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Theobald is another setter from the Freshman Stock Up Showcase who I think has a bright future ahead of her. She has a consistent height to her ball, moves well to get to everything, and does a nice job spreading the offense around and getting all of her hitters involved. She also has quite the range when it comes to out of system setting. Rather than passing the ball with a platform, she is able to get underneath it and deliver a set, even from tough positions. That not only showcases how elevated her game is but also allows her to give her pins more precise and hittable sets when things aren't perfect.
