BUILDING THEIR NAME: Class of 2030 Setters— RADAR ALERT

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Class of 2030 keeps popping up on our radar!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We have already seen plenty of young talent making an impression, and this group gives us three more names to know. These athletes are still early in their high school careers, but they are already showing poise, confidence, and a strong feel for the game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Setters especially have a lot to manage. They need to read the pass, anticipate their hitters, control tempo, and make smart decisions when the play breaks down. She runs an efficient offense and stays ready for whatever the next play brings. More importantly, she anticipates well and is constantly thinking about where she can put her hitters in the best position. Arguello has the strength to set across the court when the pass takes her away from the net, and she isn't afraid to keep the tempo moving. She can deliver the ball to any hitter at any moment, which makes her offense difficult to read. We have been especially impressed with the way she works with her middle and keeps that option involved. Additionally, Vlcek brings plenty of energy on defense. She stays ready, moves well, and isn't afraid to hit the floor when a ball needs to be saved. She moves around the court with ease and does a nice job pushing tempo to her hitters. When the pass gets tricky, Faley doesn't make the play look complicated. Instead, she adjusts, gets herself into position, and finds a way to deliver a hittable ball. That ability to stay calm when things aren't perfect is valuable for any setter.
