Kansas Heavy Hitters: Wichita Area ’21 Outside Hitters

<p>Outside Hitters dominate the initial rankings for the Class of 2021. Kansas Prep Dig will run a regular scouting report, “Kansas Heavy Hitters,” featuring the talented sharp-angled killers in prep volleyball.</p> <p>The first edition focuses on the powerful outside hitters in the Wichita area schools.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="105510" first="Katelyn" last="Fairchild"], 5’8”, Andale (Ranked No. 30)</strong> – Andale made a deep run at the Class 4A State Tournament. A major player on that team was Fairchild, an outside hitter with lots of potential. She is very strong and has a lot of patience. She has great timing in her approach and will look to help the Indians make it back to the state finals in 2020.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="105511" first="Mallorie" last="Koehn"], 5’11”, Maize (Ranked No. 31)</strong>– Koehn is arguably the best athlete and most polished hitter on the list. She is a multi-sport participant and could receive basketball offers as well. She is a high energy player who has started varsity at Maize since her freshman year. She has received multiple college offers and should continue to receive more.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="105514" first="Victoria" last="Brake"], 6’0”, Bishop Carroll (Ranked No. 34) –</strong> Bishop Carroll historically has a solid volleyball team and that should be no different in 2020. Brake is a tall player who will be leaned on this season.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="105519" first="Austin" last="Broadie"], 6’0”, Trinity Academy (Ranked No. 39)</strong> – Broadie can flat out jump which makes her dangerous on both volleyball and basketball courts. She played club ball with FCVB Fight Club and will be Trinity Academy’s top returning player in 2020. She is a quality leader and highly skilled.</p> <p>Other outside hitters to watch include [player_tooltip player_id="105525" first="Brynne" last="Noland"], Clearwater, (No. 45); [player_tooltip player_id="105535" first="Addie" last="Devine"], Circle, (No. 55); [player_tooltip player_id="105540" first="Hadley" last="Waldron"], Buhler, (No. 60); [player_tooltip player_id="105543" first="Eley" last="Johnson"], Wichita Collegiate, (No. 61); and Sophie Connor, Derby, (No. 68).</p>
