The 2027 Rocky Mountain Rankings Refresh: Six New Names to Know

As the high school season continues, new names are stepping into the spotlight and giving Prep Dig scouts more to watch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This latest update brings six athletes into the <a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/10/updated-2027-colorado-rankings/" data-type="post" data-id="1051355">Colorado 2027 rankings</a>. Each one has shown something that caught our attention. At 6'3", she brings a big presence to the net. However, her size is only part of what makes her stand out. Deruiter has a quick approach and a snappy arm swing. As a result, she can generate serious pace on her attacks. She also looks comfortable attacking tempo sets. When she gets a good approach, she can put plenty of pressure on a defense. Although she is listed as a right side for this update, Deruiter's attack can translate across the front row. She has the physical tools to make an impact from different spots. Meanwhile, she stays engaged when the play moves into the back row. Her court awareness adds another layer to her game. She understands what is happening around her and continues to make plays when the ball moves away from the net. Now, Deruiter has officially earned a spot in the 2027 rankings! Even after handling serve receive or another first-contact play, she quickly transitions into her next job. That ability keeps her involved throughout the rally. At the net, Beh shows a nice feel for the block. She can adjust her attack based on what the defense gives her. If there is open court, she can take it. However, she can also use the hands when defenders close down her first option. In addition, her six-rotation role adds even more value. Beh can contribute in both the front and back row. She brings that same steady approach no matter where she is playing. That versatility is a big reason she caught our attention. Now, Beh has earned her spot in the Colorado 2027 rankings! Her arm is heavy, and that becomes especially noticeable when she attacks against a well-formed block. Rather than backing away from a big block, she can challenge it with confidence. At the same time, Speckman is not simply swinging hard every time. She can find angles and use open court when the opportunity is there. That mix of power and placement makes her difficult to defend. Her offensive ability has also made her an important piece for Lutheran. In addition, she is stepping into more of a leadership role for her team. That responsibility gives her another opportunity to make an impact. Most importantly, Speckman continues to show that she can be someone her team relies on. Her work this season has earned her a spot in the Colorado Class of 2027 rankings! She has been on our radar for a reason. She has a feel for her hitters and can make adjustments when the play gets tight. Because of that, she helps keep the offense from becoming predictable. However, her impact goes beyond setting the second ball. Tidey stays ready when the play moves away from her. She understands what is happening around her and looks for ways to contribute. Her ability to keep hitters involved is another big piece of her game. She can find the right option when a rally gets difficult. Meanwhile, she brings experience and composure to the court. That combination caught our attention. Now, Tidey has officially earned her spot in the Colorado Class of 2027 rankings! At 6'3", she naturally takes up space at the net. However, it is her arm that really creates problems. When Jenkins-Draffin gets into her approach, she can drive the ball with serious pace. She can challenge defenders by attacking through the block. At the same time, she can work the corners when the defense gives her an opening. That ability gives her multiple ways to score. Instead of relying on one shot, Jenkins-Draffin can adjust based on what she sees. The production has been there, too. She has already recorded 135 kills while hitting .234 this season. Those numbers show that she is finding ways to turn her physical tools into production. Her size is noticeable. Her arm is noticeable. Her impact is not limited to the front row, either. From the back row, Elms competes for every ball and covers plenty of ground. She stays involved and keeps pressure on the other side. That complete game has been a theme for Elms. Last season, she established herself as a major offensive threat. This year, she is showing that the same impact is still there. In addition, Elms has continued producing while taking on plenty of responsibility for her team. She may not be the biggest player on the court. However, once the match starts, her athleticism makes that easy to forget. That is a big reason she has earned her spot in the 2027 rankings! Elms is a player who can influence a match in more ways than one. Now, she is officially on our list.
