The summer season has zoomed past and we are well within the fall high school season. Since our last update, the illusive June 15th date made its entrance and the 2028 class had a huge splash across the board. Outside of them, we have seen big time names from the 2027 class also make their mark on what's next. In this update, we have a good mix of those June 15th announcements as well as some stellar 2027s that are going to be game changers at their respective committed programs. Take a look at who is going where below.
[player_tooltip player_id='644142' first='Ava' last='Kiernan'] to Central Florida
6'2 S - South Lyon East/Michigan Elite The trajectory that this player has had is nothing short of extraordinary to watch. From a non-open player until her freshman year to one of the top prospects in the state of Michigan through her sophomore year is impressive. This kind of spurt in skill and still going is what makes [player_tooltip player_id='644142' first='Ava' last='Kiernan'] such an exciting prospect for UCF. Central Florida is a program newer to the Power 4s and with a player of Kiernan's stature and unknown ceiling, this is the kind of pick up that can catapult the Knights up the ranks. Kiernan has found a lot of success through her prep career on both the high school and club sides. With South Lyon East, she is pacing the Cougars to some of their best rankings in program history. For Michigan Elite, she led the squad to unprecedented heights, narrowly missing out on a gold bracket finish at AAU Nationals in June.

[player_tooltip player_id='490372' first='Piper' last='Cebulski'] Photo by Line Shot Volleyball

[player_tooltip player_id='490372' first='Piper' last='Cebulski'] to Seattle Pacific
6'2 S - Grand Rapids Christian/FaR Out Sticking in the Division 2 realm and talking about steals, Seattle Pacific may have found themselves a gold mind with a player like [player_tooltip player_id='490372' first='Piper' last='Cebulski']. A 6'2 setter, playing for one of the best high schools in the state and best clubs in the country, doesn't come around too often. For Cebulski, she is well-decorated and nowhere near finished with her prep career. Entering her senior season, Cebulski had helped lead many of her teams to championship performances. On the high school front with Grand Rapids Christian, she aided the Eagles to a Final Four appearance last fall as both a setter and a hitter. In the club world, Cebulski has become responsible for leading many teams to top 5 finishes in the open divisions at AAU Nationals.
[player_tooltip player_id='732306' first='Reese' last='Williams'] to Ferris State
5'11 OH - Roscommon/Mid-Mich Aces It's not everyday that you see a prospect commit to a Division 2 program as quickly as we saw this one after June 15th. But when you're Ferris State, one of the winningest programs in the nation, let alone in Michigan, the attraction is a no brainer. And for Ferris, a pick up like [player_tooltip player_id='732306' first='Reese' last='Williams'], a true diamond in the rough, could be an absolute steal in the long term. Williams is surely a diamond in the best ways possible. The Northern part of Michigan, outside of the Traverse City area, is a very untapped market for talent. In particular, talent like Williams'. At 5'10, Williams offers about everything you could want in a six rotation player. She's a good jumper, a whip of an arm and her ball control, solid relative to her peers, is only going to develop 10-fold under the tutelage of Coach Tia Brandel. Ferris State has been sitting atop the Division 2 standings for the entirety of the 2026 season and have spent the last several seasons knocking at the door of a national title. A player as raw and expansive as Williams can be, the Bulldogs will be doing more than knocking in the near future.
[player_tooltip player_id='574175' first='Payton' last='Woodruff'] to Louisiana State
5'8 S - Detroit Country Day/Legacy Louisiana State has become a program on the rise of late. They have recently welcomed a new era in the program with the hiring of Tonya Johnson, and Coach Johnson is wasting NO TIME going after some of the top recruits to take the Tigers to the next level. That is especially apparent when you see the commitment of the top ranked player in the 2028 class, [player_tooltip player_id='574175' first='Payton' last='Woodruff']. Despite her size, at 5'8, Woodruff brings an intangible skill that simply cannot be taught. Winners win. That's exactly what Johnson and company at LSU are seeing in this player. While still so young in her career, Woodruff has accumulated quite the resume. National Championship in club, multiple state championships in high school, and many, many records in between. For Woodruff, it comes naturally, and could translate incredibly well down in Baton Rouge.

[player_tooltip player_id='908353' first='Kenna' last='Deters'] Photo by Line Shot Volleyball

[player_tooltip player_id='908353' first='Kenna' last='Deters'] to Ball State
6'1 MB - Byron Center/FaR Out A real consistent theme of this catch up is talking about 'steals' for these respective programs. Ball State is another one that could very well find themselves with quite the catch. A year ago, this name was a relative unknown across the state, let alone nationally. Fast forward to now, [player_tooltip player_id='908353' first='Kenna' last='Deters'] may be one of the most dominating middle presences in the state. This past year has been quite the whirlwind for Deters. After being a driving force for Byron Center's first ever Final Four appearance last fall, Deters just took flight. She had an incredibly impactful season in the club circuit with FaR Out and now, she's leading Byron Center to another historic season. This time around, there is no secret of who she is. Even if you didn't know, she is hard to miss once she enters the stratosphere and pummels down a missile in the middle. For Ball State, a consistent force to be reckoned with in the MAC, a presence like Deters is a one that could shift the balance between a championship or coming up just short. Deters' ceiling is nowhere to be seen and a prospect like that could really flourish in a system such as BSU's.

https://www.tiktok.com/@lshotvb/video/7698072357981703455?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7621309005139035661
