6’0+ 2024’s on our Watch List and their counterparts (Part 2)

And the height continues for the class of 2024...
The 2024 class features some TALL players, but they also come with counterparts that will compliment each other in programs for the next four years.
FULLERTON
Up to Class C2 this season, Fullerton has the potential to make the school’s first appearance at the state tournament. With a tall front and a great supporting cast, the Warriors will be looking for the right combination and may look to a couple of freshmen to fill some roles.
8th year Head Coach Megan Plumbtree - “We are looking to be very competitive in the 2020 season. We will have some kinks to work out early on, as we do every year, as we will transition young players into starting roles. Older players are going to have to be willing to become role players. TEAM is going to be a KEY concept.”

McKenna joins sisters Hannah Plumbtree (2021 | 6’3 | MH) and [player_tooltip player_id="103349" first="Jordan" last="Plumbtree"] (2022 | 6’0 | MH) playing at the school this season along with their mom being the head coach. Coach comments on McKenna, “Has the potential to be a good blocker and a powerful player”
Coach Plumbtree reflects on the hardest part of being a high school volleyball coach, “The hardest part of being a high school volleyball coach, especially at this point in my career, is coaching my own children. This year I get the "pleasure" of coaching not one, not two, but THREE of my own children! It is an absolute honor, but challenging, to coach your own child. I love coaching the game, but the constant judgment and ridicule weighs heavy and is hard to deal with at times. I’m glad my (and my kids’) love for the game shines through and we find a way to get through it together. I believe my (and their) success proves itself when the haters and doubters see our Warriors play! "

DC WEST
With many returning letter winners and a solid incoming freshman class, the Falcons look to make some upsets this season. As the Falcons have more depth, Coach Bob Wald comments, “We have 7 returning letter winners along with a great freshman class. We will have a lot of depth, and players competing for playing time.”
⇒[player_tooltip player_id="104975" first="Nora" last="Wurtz"] | 2024 | ⇒6’2⇐ | MH | DC West | Nebraska Elite
Coach Bob Wald comments on this freshman, “Nora can be a very dominant player with her height. Nora is a very hard worker and wants to keep getting better. She knows she has a lot to learn yet. We will continue to work on her back-row play. She is a 3 sport athlete who will also play basketball and do track.”
Fellow player senior Emily Harkins (2021 | 6’0 | MH | DC West | Club Legacy) comments on Wurtz, “As a middle and a senior, I’m looking forward to working with our incoming freshman Nora.
