Continue ReadingOver the next few months I will be rolling out some articles that will give props (proper respects for those who aren’t hip with the kids lingo like I am…jk) to those volleyball players who are terrorizing their opponents this volleyball season. I will still be doing our regular highlight articles on multiple athletes for exposure, however I wanted to do some special articles on a few special athletes that we are getting to know quite well with Prep Dig TX. This week we will give special recognition to Miss Ally Scheidle from Tivy HS as she is our High School Player of the Week.

Ally is ranked as the 69th best prospect in the state of Texas according to our Prep Dig State Rankings List. We recently wrote an article about her earlier in the summer, “Ally is a wonderful prospect as a five foot eleven setter from the prestigious Alamo Volleyball club out of San Antonio. She was the 2019 district 26-5A Most Valuable Player. She can do it all on the court. She is a fantastic setter and a great hitter also. She loves to start out at a very deep touch point to start her attack and it allows her to gain so much momentum to use for added power on her swing. And boy does she have some power on that attack. If there is a split in the block, the opponent has almost no chance. I truly love the way she times her block on the right side versus the opponents outside. She reads the approach so well and times almost perfectly on the block. It is a great sight to see for a coach. She is rapidly rising on our rankings also due to her ability to play every spot on the court. Her ball control out of serve receive is amazing and she can dig just like a libero. Someone will scoop her up really soon so I hope all of you coaches take note of her name now.” For someone to be named the MVP of a district as a sophomore, it says a lot about her abilities on the court. Ally will likely move up the rankings as we update them in late October/early November, so stay tuned to see where she falls.
So far in this young season of only four games, Ally has led her team in kills, assists, aces, and digs in each contest. This past week she has amassed 71 kills, 44 assists, 10 aces, 41 digs, and 2.5 blocks. She did well last season as a sophomore and is following it up with an amazing start to her junior season. Her coach, Stephanie Coates, says the following about Ally, “ Ally is an all-around threat on the court, contributing to the games success in all facets. She is a three-year starter for Tivy and is one of the top all around players in the area. On top of all of that, she is also the most competitive, yet humble kids you will know. She is a great teammate and leader.”
She is only going to get better as she continues to progress with her Tivy teammates. Let’s wish her well and share this on social media as she deserves as the kids say…”mad props” due to her amazing play on the court.
We will be publishing more articles weekly to give recognition to those athletes who are playing great in their matches. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. Or if you have anyone that you think have what it takes to be added to our database, please shoot me an email with some info at nov8vb@yahoo.com. As always, thanks for following our publication.
