First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
Next in line is the 1A Trico district, which has five high schools set to compete, and their best three players are:
Abby Cummins – Setter – Senior – King’s Way Christian
King’s Way Christian’s perfect 10-0 campaign in the district last season was heavily influenced by Abby Cummins’ strong game for the Knights. The 5’8” setter kept up with her sky-high standards, registering more than 400 assists for a third-straight season with 504. Cummins was an All-State second-team member and also made a huge impact on her team’s offense with 153 kills, the third-highest mark in the team, which made of her an All-League Co-Offensive Player of the Year. She was also solid on serving, with 35 aces, and on defense, with 139 digs.

Tiffany Chandler Tiffany Chandler 5'10" | OH La Center | 2021 State WA was a scoring machine for La Center in 2019 and her immense offensive production helped the Wildcats winning six of their ten district matches last season. The 5’10” hitter registered a whopping 354 kills in the team’s last campaign, 45 of which on the same match and more than all of her teammates combined. Her strong game at the net made of Chandler an All-State second-team selection and also earned her an All-League Co-Offensive Player of the Year award. She contributed to a great extent in virtually every other area of the game, adding 28 aces, 18 blocks, 219 digs and 258 passes. She ranks 20th at prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.
Brooke Wirkkala – Outside Hitter – Junior – Castle Rock
Brooke Wirkkala excelled in her role with Castle Rock last year offering invaluable support for senior star Logann Golden in the team’s 8-2 district campaign. The 5’7” outside hitter and defensive specialist was a key piece in the Rockets’ system with her solid backcourt skills, averaging 6.8 digs per match, and her efficient game at the new, which saw her convert nearly half of her attacking attempts. The well-polish all-around game made of the versatile Wirkkala an All-State team honorable mention nominee and an All-League first-team selection.
