Multiple Eagle players will continue their playing careers at the college level next season and there will be plenty of returning talent for the 2021 season as well.
Here is a scouting report from the Sub State matches for Maize.
OH, Baylee Miller Baylee Miller 5'9" | OH Maize | 2021 State KS , 5’9” (’21 Ranked No. 105) – Miller’s had the best match of the day. She dominated in the Eagles 25-17, 25-22 victory over Eisenhower. Miller had 12 kills, eight digs, and 10 service receptions in the win. The Maize senior has verbally committed to play at Hutchinson Community College after graduation. Miller had four kills, six digs, and 13 serve receptions in her final high school game against Maize South.
OH, Mallorie Koehn Mallorie Koehn 5'11" | OH Maize | 2021 State KS , 5’11”, (’21 Ranked No. 31)– Koehn has multiple offers from MIAA Division II schools. She is an athletic hitter and who can play both front and back rows. Koehn amassed 14 kills, seven digs, and six serve receptions in her final two matches. It will be interesting to see where she lands, but there will be plenty of opportunities to watch her play in Kansas if she does end up with an MIAA program.
MB, Sydney Lentz Sydney Lentz 6'1" | MB Maize | 2021 State KS 6’2”, (’21 Ranked No. 46) – Lentz finished her high school career with a bang. She had one stretch in the 25-17,25-22 loss to Maize South where she put the team on her back and kept the match close. Lentz had seven kills and three blocks in the Eagles second match of the day. She has received NAIA and JUCO offers for next year but has yet to commit.
Juniors Abby Godfrey and Cameron Cleary Cameron Cleary 5'11" | MB Maize | 2022 State KS both played well in the Sub State and will be two of the three juniors who started in 2020 that will look for solid seasons in 2021. Godfrey is a middle hitter with a big reach and Cleary is an outside hitter who is a force on the front row.
