Seven Southeast Ohio District Standouts

<p><em><strong>Division II</strong></em></p> <p><strong>Cameron Zinn</strong> - Vinton County = Offensive Player of the Year<br /> The 5’10 junior setter has great court presence and impact as a floor leader and in her effort. She has good quickness and a well-rounded skill set to dish, play defense, and get up and swing and block effectively at the net. She averaged nearly nine assists per set along with nine digs per match to help Vinton County to another successful season at 21-4.</p> <p><strong>Kerrigan Ward</strong> - Vinton County = Co-Defensive Player of the Year<br /> Ward posted big numbers this season with 16 digs per match. The 5’7 junior handled the bulk of the team’s serve receive responsibilities with good efficiency. She has good court sense and supports her team well throughout point flow. Kerrigan was also among team leaders at the service line in helping guide the team to an 11-1 conference record.</p> <p><strong>Jenna Harrison</strong> - Gallia Academy = Co-Defensive Player of the Year<br /> At 5’2, Harrison provided big effort and impact for the Blue Devils in helping lead them to an undefeated conference record at 14-0 in the Ohio Valley. The sophomore averaged 16 digs per match through good vision and balance that helps her utilize her quickness to pursue of the ball and frustrate opponent offense.</p> <p><em><strong>Division III</strong></em></p> <p><strong>Samantha LaFon</strong> - Ironton = Offensive Player of the Year<br /> The 5’10 senior was an offensive force for the Fighting Tigers as she terminated an average of 5.5 kills per set while attacking at .292. She is athletic and showed good versatility in her ability to score from different attack points. She recently signed to play basketball at Marshall.</p> <p><strong>Karsyn Raines</strong> - Alexander = Defensive Player of the Year<br /> The 5’8 outside hitter was very productive for the Spartans in leading them to a 20-4 record in 2020. She average 4.6 kills per set at a .396 attacking efficiency. She gets her feet to the ball well and upon elevation shows a fast arm that can get the ball on the defense in a hurry. The senior was terrific at the service line with 54 aces while collecting over 12 digs per match. </p> <p><em><strong>Division IV</strong></em></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="114501" first="Laikyn" last="Imler"]</strong> - Trimble = Offensive Player of the Year<br /> The 5’7 Imler had a great season in providing a lot of offense for the Tomcats. At 5.5 kills per set, the junior outisde hitter overwhelmingly led the team in total attempts but shouldered the work load well in attacking at a .345 clip. She builds good momentum in her approach work and has an aggressive arm in the air. She also led this team in total service aces and with a 12 digs per match average.</p> <p><strong>Riley Campbell</strong> - Trimble = Defensive Player of the Year<br /> Campbell served as this team’s second offensive option and produced just over two kills per set. She shows good arm control when her feet get to the ball and was able to terminate well from both the middle and right side through a higher offensive option. She had 60 service aces and picked up nearly 10 digs per match as the Tomcats finished the season at 11-1 in conference play and 21-5 overall. </p>
