2023 Newest Additions to the State Rankings List Vol 3

<p>We began our rankings in March with only the top 50 players in the state ranked on our list.  We now have the top 91 players in the state ranked in the 2023 grad class.  We are extremely excited to welcome these ladies to such a prestigious group.  We have not written about these athletes in this article yet.  We would like to introduce them with their much deserved overall State Ranking attached to their name.  Congratulate them on social media or in person the next time you see them. Welcome to the list ladies…</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="122895" first="Kelli" last="Northup"] [2023] 5-8 Setter/Right Side (HS: Round Rock Christian/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <p>Please welcome Kelli to the 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings.  We have her listed as the 65^thbest prospect in the state.  This 6 rotation setter/right side hitter from the Austin area has been a star on her Varsity team since she broke out on the scene last year as a Freshman.  This past season was more of the same.  Her school program leans on her offense to carry the load for the team.  She mainly hits out of the right side for her high school but can hit out of either pin. She has great ball control and is able to add both finesse and power to her offense.  She does score on setter dumps to help the offense keep the defense off-balance.  She has a soft release from the setting position which helps her location stay consistent.  But her ability to get off of the ground quickly is the one thing that stands out the most when you watch her play.  It is that fast-twitch muscle technique that catches the eye and will keep her on the state rankings as she progresses in the sport.  Please congratulate her on her ranking with Prep Dig. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="122896" first="Ryleigh" last="Garis"] [2023] 5-9 Setter (HS: Vista Ridge/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <p>Please help us welcome Ryleigh officially to the list as the 67^thbest prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings.  She is a very skilled setter who excels in both the indoor game and beach volleyball also. This is very difficult for most players to do because of how different the game is within each sport.  Sand is most ball control oriented and it takes a special player to be able to do everything on the sand.  You must be great at each skill-set otherwise you will have some difficulty in playing at an elite level.  Ry is able to perform at a high level in both sports.  This speaks to her athleticism and also to her being coachable by her skills trainers.  She regularly takes lessons with Setter U and it has helped her become the player she is today.  As a freshman and sophomore on Varsity at Vista Ridge, she has amassed 766 assists, 56 aces, 389 digs and 31 kills.  We have no doubt that she will continue to become a great player and rise in the rankings if she continues to work as hard as she does on her craft.  She is a great sand prospect for any colleges that have sand programs.  You should definitely add her name to your list of players to watch.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="122897" first="Lily" last="Nicholson"] [2023] 5-10 Setter/Right Side (HS: Mckinney North/Club: Drive Nation/ Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <p>Please welcome Lily to the 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings.  We have her listed as the 72^ndbest prospect in the state.  Lily plays for an up and coming volleyball club in the Dallas area called Drive Nation. She is a very skilled setter who has just helped her team make a good run in the UIL state playoffs.  In the third round she was able to get 57 assists, 26 digs, 2 blocks, and also 3 kills as a sophomore.  What stands out is her quick setting technique.  She is able to shot the ball to her teammates fast and the opponent doesn’t have enough time to set the block.  She has long arms and plays all the way around on the court. Her back sets to middles on the slide or even out of system against flow sets to the right side are beautiful to watch come out of her hands.  She has every tool necessary to move up the rankings fast.  I will for sure have my eye on her this club season because this young lady can flat out ball on the court.  Please congratulate her on her ranking with Prep Dig. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We have tons of new players to introduce you to that got added to our 2023 rankings with the new update and tons who moved up and down the list.  We will be publishing more articles daily to give the recognition to each athlete that has earned the right to be called a top 100 Texas Volleyball Player.  Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.  If you have anyone you think we should watch out for or that you think have what it takes to be added to our database, please shoot me an email with some info at nov8vb@yahoo.com</p>
