The best from each class – District 4A Columbia Basin Big Nine

<p>The start of the high school volleyball season in Washington is closer than ever and at this point, you should already be very familiar with the best teams and the most impressive players from each district as we analyzed them in detail for the last few months in our several different series.</p> <p>However, we know one of the reasons why many of you follow high school volleyball is to try and anticipate which prospects have what it takes to succeed at the collegiate level and beyond. So, in this series, we’ll share our best guesses and list the top student-athletes from each of the next three graduating classes in each State district.</p> <p>The 4A Columbia Basin Big Nine district is up next and here are our selections in the area:</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Class of 2021</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="97008" first="Alayna" last="Just"] – Setter – Eastmont</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="97008" first="Alayna" last="Just"] showed she was what it takes to be a good setter beyond the high school level as her career continues. The 5’6” Eastmont prospect has great touch on the ball, which generated as many as 458 assists for her in 2019, but she also brings more to the table on defense and from the service. With her impressive court awareness and superior ball control, Just was able to register the Wildcats’ second-best mark of 139 digs last season and she led the team in aces with 43. Her all-around contributions propelled her to the All-League first team last season. Just ranks 29th on prepdig.com’s class of 2021 ranking.</p> <p><iframe src="//www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/11612312/5d954aa10dc04916685428de" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Class of 2022</strong></p> <p><strong>Abby Black – Outside Hitter - Wenatchee</strong></p> <p>Abby Black was easily Wenatchee’s best player last season and for that reason, she was awarded as the district’s Co-Player of the Year and four her way to the All-State team as an honorable mention. The 5’11” outside hitter’s offensive game is what stands out when she’s on the court as Black has the rare combination for someone her age of power, technique, confidence and decision-making skills. The outside hitter is also well-versed on the backcourt, with good passing and digging technique, and causes some damage for the Panthers from the service line.</p> <p><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Af3mCdV8T_A" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Class of 2023</strong></p> <p><strong>Kennedy Webb – Outside Hitter – West Valley</strong></p> <p>Kennedy Webb knows what it takes to continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level as her two older sisters did just that and she seems to be on the right path to do the same. The six-footer played in only one season for West Valley so far but she left a great impression in the district with a strong game at the net and a very well-refined passing game. Webb has all the tools to evolve into an elite outside hitter and she gave the first step in that direction in 2019, when she made it to the All-League team as an honorable mention on her freshman year.</p> <p><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/oFRzqM4W7OY" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
