Today, we will start with Omaha and the 16 open division. Here are some players who are diverse in their skill set and can mark numerous checkboxes for college coaches who will begin reaching out on June 15th.
Isabel Day Isabel Day 5'9" | DS/L Park Hill South | 2023 State MO / 5-9 / OH-DS-Beach / KC Power 16-1 / Park Hill South High School
Day is one of my favorite players to watch due to the diversity we are speaking on. A player who I thought last year would become a primary back row defender, she continues to make plays and contribute on the pins for a highly talented KC Power team. Her shot selection is impressive, as she knows when to go hard cut or soft deep corner line. She is a strong beach player, which surely contributes to her complete skillset. She is a solid defender and an asset in the passing department. Her versatility should make her appealing to many programs, as she can compete indoor and outdoor.
Adalyn Horn Adalyn Horn 5'8" | S Staley | 2023 State MO / 5-9 / S-RS-OH / Dynasty 16 Blue / Staley High School
It is always counted as a strength when you have a setter who is also offensive-minded and able to see the court well. That is what you get in Horn when she’s in the front row. Her court awareness allows her to be effective across the front row. She also has the ability to swing from the pin when not setting. She puts up a good block and continues to develop strength and power. As she continues to improve in the passing department, she will showcase her ability to contribute to a team in many capacities.
Lilliana Saxe / 5-8 / L-DS / Dynasty 16 Blue / St. Teresa’s Academy
We highlight Saxe primarily due to her ability to play either libero or defensive specialist at the next level. She is solid in ball control and a high-level defender across the back row. We love her size, which gives her the ability to swing from behind the 10-foot line if she is in the specialist role. She is a good communicator and displays great court vision. We also like her work from behind the service line, where she has the ability to drop one right in front of the defense.
Jocelyn Renfro / 5-9 / OH-DS / Dynasty 16 Blue / Liberty High School
Renfro is one of those players who can play as a hitter at the right fit program down the line. She is aggressive and fearless, which you love to see in your hitters. She has a good mix of shots and knows exactly when to take something off to find the floor. She has a wicked line shot. She is a player who will benefit from an increased vertical, as her swings already pack a punch. Her primary area of development will be as a passer and defender. She has big-game experience, playing important sets for a talented Liberty program over the last couple of years.
