Recruiting Report: Brenna Hesse (2019)
Farmington junior Brenna Hesse is a top 25 talent in her class and one of the elite liberos state wide. Brenna is in the middle of her club season at the moment and she paused her busy schedule to talk with Prep Dig.
"The club season is going very well so far," Hesse said. "Our teams culture is amazing and we are really starting to gel. We have started out our season strong placing third in the 17 open division at Omaha’s President’s Day Tournament. With a lot of the season left, we are hoping to continue to improve as a team and try to reach our goal of a national championship."
The vocal piece of the game is crucial and part of Brenna's leadership is the way she communicates. Hesse hopes to take what she learns from this club season and bring it to see her senior season at Farmington.
"Every time I step on the court my goal is to continue to improve in all aspects of the game. I strive to continue to have leadership, energy and communication to help contribute to my teams success," Brenna said.
"I think my high school team can compete with any team we face this upcoming season if we play to our potential every time we step out on the court. We have a great group of girls and I am excited to see what we can do this season!"
Hesse is certainly capable of leading Farmington to a big time 2018-19 year. She has been the varsity starting libero since her freshman year, she was 2016 All Conference Honorable Mention, 2017 All Conference, and 2017 Top 5 liberos in state for total digs. Brenna also placed third at the 2017 AAU National Championships and was awarded AAU All American at that tournament."
With all of her success Hesse is building her profile and continuing her quest to play at the college level.
"I have had a variety of colleges that have expressed interest in me. I am continuing to reach out and talk to schools to see what college will be the best fit for me as a student athlete"
Hesse is a competitor which is why she is regarded as one of the best in state and why her list of accomplishments ranks with the best. A lot of what she has learned has come from here family.
"My sister (Makenzie) has always been my role model," Brenna said. "I have always looked up to her because of her strength, dedication and hard work in all that she does. She has taught me to never give up no matter what life brings!"
