All five of these student-athletes will be heading into their senior seasons next fall and are members of the 2022 recruiting class. Many of the Top Ten kill leaders from this class have been featured in earlier reports so this list digs a little deeper into the Class of 2022.
OH, Jenna Walters Jenna Walters 5'7" | OH West Franklin | 2022 State KS , 5’6”, West Franklin – Walters had a big junior season for the West Franklin Eagles. She is a six-rotation player who racked up 240 kills to go along with 260 digs. She enjoys playing and is a solid leader. In a highly-talented class, she is flying a little under the radar. She plays club ball with Adidas Dynasty.
OH, Allyson Baker Allyson Baker 5'9" | OH Perry-Lecompton | 2022 State KS , 5’9”, Perry Lecompton – Baker finished with 238 kills in the 2020 high school campaign. She also added 299 digs. She could play multiple positions at the college level depending on program needs. Baker has a big reach and plays under control.
OH, Kennedy Holstein, 5’7”, Scott City – Holstein is a great jumper and has a nice swing. She led the Beavers in kills with 233. Holstein also has a solid serve as she finished with 61 aces in her junior season.
OH, Mattelyn Swartz, 6’1”, Anthony-Harper-Chaparral – Swartz is a raw talent with an athletic frame. She led the Roadrunners in kills with 229 kills and had a solid hitting percentage. At six-foot-one her skills will play at the next level and JUCO programs should watch her compete in 2021.
OH, Ella Rumford, 6’0”, Scott City – Scott City will be a program to watch in 2021 with two top killers with varsity experience. Rumford amassed 220 kills for the Beavers in 2020. She and Holstein provide multiple hitting weapons and a solid one-two-punch in Class 2A.
