Centered out of Lincoln, Nebraska Juniors attracts and promotes multi-sport athletes and gives them an opportunity to train and play while playing other high school sports. With numerous opportunities for different levels of teams, they also offer a training-only schedule.
Starting the Nebraska Juniors series is the 15’s red team made up of 2024’s. Some have varsity experience and some will be pushing for spots in the upcoming season. Coach Dean Farley, former coach at Syracuse, notes that the club works with all abilities and pushes them to be the best they can be through the process and take those skills back to use during their high school season. He sees improvement in each of his players from week to week. The team runs a 6-2 and many players see multiple positions.
Tatum Backemeyer Tatum Backemeyer 5'4" | DS/L Elmwood-Murdock | 2024 State NE | 5’4 | Elmwood-Murdock | DS/L
Tatum led her high school team with 334 digs last season and was a dominant force in serve receive. As a smart player, she knows where to be and when to be there. With multiple players on the Knight squad playing club this season, look for their wins to increase this fall.
Jaidyn Bell Jaidyn Bell 5'4" | DS/L Milford | 2024 State NE | 5’4 | Milford | DS/L
Working hard in the offseason should push Jaidyn to see more time on the court in 2021.
Laney Frahm Laney Frahm 5'4" | S Elmwood-Murdock | 2024 State NE | 5’6 | Elmwood-Murdock | Setter
Another player from E-M that saw extensive varsity experience last fall. Laney led her team with 336 assists in a 6-2 system. Her athleticism allows her to do a lot of things well.
Keira Hennerberg | 5’6 | Diller-Odell | OH/RS
The Griffins look to reload this fall and Hennerberg looks to push for more time on the court.
Eizlee Misko | 5’7 | Norris | DS/L, OH
As Norris graduates many decorated players, they continually reload each year. Eizlee provides this team a lot of energy on the court.
Allie Morrison | 5’11 | Norris | MH/OH
With a quick wrist, Allie is working to build her confidence.
Brynn Person | 5’5 | Lincoln North Star | Setter, DS/L
In addition to setting, Brynn is relied on from the service line.
Laney Songster Laney Songster 5'8" | S Lincoln Northeast | 2024 State NE | 5’9 | Lincoln Northeast | OH/RS, Setter
As a smart player, Laney can play any position asked of her.
Sarah Spahr Sarah Spahr 5'10" | MB Milford | 2024 State NE | 5’11 | Milford | MB/OH
With a lot of varsity time in 2020, Sarah will be looked to terminate in 2021. Her length, balance, and high touch of 112” make her one to keep an eye on as she improves through the club season.
Lilly Swanson | 5’9 | Diller-Odell | OH/RS
Lilly saw extensive varsity action with the 34-1 Griffins in 2020 with 107 kills on .234 hitting. On the Juniors team, she plays six rotations and has proved to be a dynamic attacker.
Kaylee Weigel | 5’6 | Lincoln Pius X | OH, DS/L
Kaylee continues to show improvement on the court and is asked to play multiple positions.
