Over the next few weeks, we’ll take some time to honor their efforts and use this space to provide a brief recap of how the season played out in each of those districts and to highlight the players who earned all-league team nominations and MVP awards for their excellent performances.
4A Puget Sound – North
The 4A Puget Sound district was split in two and Gig Harbor was the dominant force on the North part with five wins and just one loss. Peninsula also had a positive campaign with a 4-2 win record.
Co-MVPs
Chloe Yerex – Gig Harbor – Setter – 2021
Chloe Yerex did a great job in coordinating Gig Harbor’s offense to secure the best campaign among the teams in the north portion of the district. At 5’9”, she has good size for the position, is very quick to the ball and does a great job in communicating with her teammates. Such a high level of play helped her committing to Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
Laney Lovrovich – Peninsula – Outside Hitter – 2021
Laney Lovrovich was a scoring machine for Peninsula in her last season of high school volleyball. The 5’9” outside hitter registered 10+ kills in every match she played for the Seahawks and posted 20 and 19 against Emerald Ridge and Gig Harbor, respectively. She also showed a good defensive game reaching double digits in digs in a handful of matches.
