Since Texas has it’s fair share of players over 6 feet tall, I figured I would keep a series of articles highlighting these players. We are bouncing around the state with this article as there are some new additions to our State Rankings that tower over everyone that we would like to introduce to you. Without further ado, here are some six-footers who are turning some heads:
Kelsey Perry Kelsey Perry 6'3" | MB Reedy | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-3 Middle (HS: Reedy/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Iowa State)
We would like to introduce you to Kelsey Perry Kelsey Perry 6'3" | MB Reedy | 2022 State TX from the class of 2022. We have her listed as the 50th best prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays at Reedy high school and club for Drive Nation out of the North Texas Region. Standing at six foot three, she is an imposing force in the middle. Already verbally committed to Iowa State, Kelsey has been a stud for every team she has been on. She was instrumental in helping her Reedy high school squad go 17-7 overall and 14-3 in district last season. She was able to accumulate 68 kills on a .331 hitting percentage and 67 blocks. Miss Perry will be looking forward to building on that great start at Reedy. Her length in the middle position is a coach’s dream and she uses it to shut down her opponents. Iowa State will be glad to get those long arms to bolster its defensive prowess in a few years. Meanwhile we will love to watch her progress on the volleyball court. Please congratulate Miss Perry on her achievement of being one of the top players in the state of Texas.
Izabella Ortiz Izabella Ortiz 6'1" | MB Flower Mound | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-1 Middle (HS: Flower Mound/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We would like to introduce you to Izabella Ortiz Izabella Ortiz 6'1" | MB Flower Mound | 2022 State TX from the class of 2022. We have her listed as the 56th best prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays at Flower Mound High School and club for Drive Nation out of the North Texas Region. She is an uncommitted but very physical and talented middle who should be getting tons of looks as colleges are looking to solidify their rosters for the future. Kelsey has been a stud for every team she has been on. She and her state ranked Flower Mound volleyball team went 23-2 overall and 14-1 in district last season. In two years on varsity, she has been able to accumulate 266 kills on a .264 hitting percentage and 146 blocks. She is a super high flying and athletic stud attacker that in my opinion can hit any position at any level on the court. Any college who is lucky enough to pick up this young lady will have so much fun utilizing her in different offensive systems. What I love about her is that she plays sand volleyball also and that showcases her overall ball control in the sport. Take a look at her and you will not be disappointed. Please congratulate Miss Ortiz on her achievement of being one of the top players in the state of Texas.
Madison Lund Madison Lund 6'3" | MB Dripping Springs | 2022 State TX [2022] 6-3 Right Side/Middle (HS: Dripping Springs/Club: Austin Skyline/Verbal: West Virginia)
We would like to introduce you to Madison Lund Madison Lund 6'3" | MB Dripping Springs | 2022 State TX from the class of 2022. We have her listed as the 63rd best prospect according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Madi plays at Dripping Springs High School and club for Austin Skyline out of the Lone Star Region. She helped her Dripping Springs volleyball team have a 23-6 overall and 12-4 in district last season. In two years on varsity, she has been able to accumulate 382 kills on a .434 hitting percentage and 132 blocks. Madi is another big and versatile force at the net who is able to hit quick tempos out of the middle and high pin sets as well. She is able to use the length in her extremities to put a great seal on the net in order to slow her opponent down by forcing them to hit around her. This is able to help her team play solid defense and be extremely competitive against top competition. She is verbally committed to West Virginia and will join their program in a few years. In the meantime, we will continue to watch her progress on the court. Please congratulate Miss Lund on her achievement of being one of the top players in the state of Texas.
