Midseason Report: Top Setters

<p>We are roughly in the middle of the season based on the date of the season as we have now moved into October. We took a look at outside hitters and now let’s take a look at the top setters. These ladies have really impressed me this season. The list is in no particular order. </p> <p><em><strong>Joanna Andrews (Williamstown)</strong></em></p> <p>Andrews leaves her fingerprint on every play for Williamstown. Her volleyball IQ is off the charts and is the reason why Williamstown is unbeaten. She makes the correct play every time and ensures they are in the best position to be successful. Andrews has left her mark and has 313 assists on the season. </p> <p><em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="152489" first="Emily" last="Wolters"] (North Hunterdon)</strong></em></p> <p>Wolters was a major surprise in the spring and now has put herself as one of the best. What happens? Wolters showcased her precision passing and ability to be creative from anywhere on the court. Now it has been Wolters show and she could easily lead the state in assists. She presently has 276 assists on the season and just eclipsed 500 in her career. </p> <p><em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="99865" first="Emily" last="Carcich"] (Jefferson)</strong></em></p> <p>When it comes to Jefferson, you look no further than Carcich.  Having been the primary setter since her sophomore season certainly set Jefferson up for greatness. Carcich’s tenacity and technical skill propel her team’s offense to the next level and it has shown this season as she has 250 assists on the season with Jefferson right in the NJAC conversation. </p> <p><em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="152484" first="Mackenzie" last="Bloss"] (St. John Vianney)</strong></em></p> <p>When you think of St. John Vianney, your mind directly goes towards Bloss. The senior setter can make every pass in the book and does it with pinpoint accuracy. It looks effortless when she is in command of the offense. At the moment, Bloss has 230 assists on the season. </p> <p><em><strong>Patria Moreno (Barnegat)</strong></em></p> <p>Lastly, we have Moreno for Barnegat. She has been able to establish herself immensely and has been doing it all for them. She has 271 assists on the season, she leads the team in digs as well and is third on the team in kills. Expect for Moreno to continue to carry Barnegat. </p>
