Weekend Spotlight: Tournament Dream Matchups

As we embark into the weekend, there are some matchups I have my eye on. Some teams are on the rise and taking on some of the best in the state. So let’s take a closer look at some matchups that are going to be a must-watch. 

Bogota vs Immaculate Heart

A rematch we have all been waiting for has finally arrived in the Bergen County Tournament on Saturday as Bogota and Immaculate Heart will square-off for the second time this season. The teams faced each other in their season opener with Immaculate Heart winning convincingly in straight sets. However, this is a different Bogota squad than from the beginning of the year, can they push it to a third or even pull of the upset?

Clifton vs Wayne Valley

We have a final in the Passaic County Tournament between Clifton and Wayne Valley. Clifton’s only defeat on the season is to Wayne Valley where they lost in straight sets. However, the sets were tight where the differential was only win by two in both sets. The question will be can Clifton get over the top or will the balanced-attack of Wayne Valley prevail?

North Hunterdon vs Sparta

Alright so this one is a possibility but not a guarantee as if North Hunterdon and Sparta win their semifinal matchups on Saturday they will face-off in the final immediately after. Sparta have found their groove again after back-to-back losses a couple weeks ago and North Hunterdon has clicked on all-cylinders throughout the season. These squads combine for three losses and all three teams are in the Prep Dig Top 10. An intriguing matchup of two extremely balanced and complete teams.
